2. Early Life
Mahathir Mohamad was born
on December 20, 1925, in Alor
Setar, in the state of Kedah in
northern Malaysia. His family
was modest but stable, and his
father was a respected teacher
at an English language school.
3. Entry Into Politics
Dr. Mahathir has been active in politics since 1945. He has been a
member of the United Malays National Organization (UMNO).
Mahathir was first elected as a Member of Parliament following
the General Election in 1964. He was appointed Chairman of the
first Higher Education council in 1968, In 1973 Dr. Mahathir was
appointed a Senator.
4. Entry Into Politics
He relinquished this post in order to contest the 1974 General
Election where he was returned unopposed. Following the
elections Dr. Mahathir was appointed Minister of Education. In
1976Dr. Mahathir was appointed Deputy Prime Minister.
Mahathir became the Prime Minister of Malaysia on 16 July
1981. After 22 years in office, Mahathir retired on 31 October
2003.
5. Malaysian politics under Mahathir
Dr Mahathir IS credited with having
turned Malaysia's economy from
agriculture-reliant to industrial-base,
at the same time elevating
Malaysia's position as the 17th
biggest trading nation in the world.
He opened the country to foreign
investment, reformed taxation,

1997, Dr Mahathir resisted the
International Monetary Fund aid
and implementing Malaysia's very
own formula for economic recovery
which remains a model for
economic success. reduced trade
barriers, privatised numerous state
enterprises, besides creating a world
class physical infrastructure.
7. He sought to bridge Malaysia's ethnic divides
by increasing prosperity. Malaysia developed
into one of the most prosperous and dynamic
economies in Southeast Asia, with a
burgeoning industrial sector, an expanding
middle class and enhanced quality of life.
Always with one eye on the future, in 1991 he
unveiled Vision 2020, a blueprint for
Malaysia's journey to becoming a developed
economy and a mature democracy by the
year 2020

A project manager should talk base on progress report, Bill of
Quantity and any other formal document when reporting to the
client.

An architect should not be too proud of their design and try
hard to improve their work
A good leader not necessarily humble but he should at
least not brag.
10. He must readily accept responsibility but can not too
pushy and insisted in lead.

The project manager should be honest in accepting job
which appointed by client to avoid any problem during
construction period

The leader should not treat their worker as a slave and
with no sympathies.
11. Do’s
A safety officer should investigate the root cause if
something unexpected appeared on the workplace such
as accidents.
Don’ts
A safety officer should not blame the workers when an
accident occurs on site, there must be a reason lead to
the accident.
He should not blame others for his failure but to admit
his weaknesses. He should not find other people to be
blame.
12. Do’s
A project manager should treat all his workers fairly
without differentiate them base on ethnicity, nationality
and etc.
Don’ts
A contractor should not be too ambitious on his job just
to get popularity without achieving the quality required.
He should behave noble and not asking for
compliment and popularity.
13. Do’s
Control his follower through emotional approach and
respect his top management.
Don’ts
Neglect idea from down line worker otherwise that idea
are constructive with the excuse only he is a labour and
incompetent to respond opinion.
He must know how to control his follower and top
management. He needs to be sensitive with other
person sensitivity.
14. Do’s
Project manager must satisfy client needs.
Don’ts
Prioritize profit than quality & his right itself as a project
manager.
He should be ready to do what the others expected
from him to perform. He should be a role model to
others.
15. Do’s
Have wide knowledge in their job so he will not be
cheated by down line.
Don’ts
Don’t have leadership skills.
Not think in various angle when make a decision.
He must smart and brighter at least over people
under his leadership.
