Youth comprehension of political messages in YouTube videos was studied. Results showed that youth who had prior political knowledge and views that aligned with the messages had a 86% predicted probability of comprehending the messages, while those without alignment had only a 3% predicted probability of comprehending. Prior political knowledge and view alignment affect how well youth comprehend satirical political messages conveyed in videos.
