Olly brought his own black guitar to a music video shoot because it matched the song "Paint it Black" and using a borrowed guitar would have required a deposit. As Olly was familiar with playing his own guitar, it allowed him to mime along to the backing track in a realistic way that made it appear he was actually playing. The director wanted Olly to mime effectively on guitar to give viewers the impression he was really performing the song.
2. • The guitar was owned by Olly. He thought he would bring his black
guitar because it more fitting to the music video as the song is known
as Paint it Black. Just like the bass, borrowing a guitar would have
required a £50 deposit. It was a safer solution for Olly to use his own
as there was less risk of his guitar breaking as he is used to playing it.
As the guitar belongs to Olly, he is used to playing it so it made it look
more realistic when Olly was playing the guitar against the backing
track. It was important for Olly to be able mime effectively with his
guitar because I wanted it to look real so people would be under the
impression that Olly was actually playing guitar on the song. I had
already carried out a risk assessment of the studio so I knew there
was a very small chance of his guitar having any problems.
