Civil engineers are considered to be technical artists who design and build aesthetic structures, roads and other architectural marvels. Their whole career more or less evolves around constructions, yet there are varying specializations within these constructions where civil engineers can seek and find a better career path
6. Surveying:
With a whole knowledge
of operating the Total
Station Equipment and a
passion for land
surveying one can
venture a career in this
field. Surveying
professionals with
experience of survey
data analysis and field
surveying are always in
great demand in India.
8. If one has the ability to
understand
people/vehicle
behaviour and design a
transportation system
with minimal traffic
issues, it is a right career
for them. Currently India
is making major
upgrades on our road
and rail transportation
networks, which will
provide jobs for many
engineers.
9. Building Information
Modelling:
BIM is rather a promising
career as the process of
creating a 3D digital interface
model of all buildings before
beginning the actual
construction has become a
necessity in large firms.
Sooner or later this 3D
modelling is going to rise to
an industry level and future
constructions will become
increasingly dependent on this
prior digital structure.
10. Construction Management:
This is the highest paid job
with immense opportunities
for civil engineering
graduates. Because without a
construction project manager
nothing can be done. For a job
in this field one may need to
possess certain skills such as
basic project management
skills, proficiency in software
tools like Primavera and MS
Project, and relevant field
experience.
11. Other than these career paths
there are numerous others,
such as water resources
engineer, fire engineer, marine
engineer, geotechnical
engineer etc. One way or the
other all engineering
graduates will get employed in
different industries with
appealing salary packages. It is
one of the main reasons why
engineering colleges in Kerala
and other places around the
world are experiencing the
greatest rush of applications
every subsequent year.
