1958: Started SQUARE Pharma as a partnership business with a total initial
investment of Rs 17,000.
1962: Opened a branch in Hatkhola road, Dhaka.
1964: Transformed into a private limited company.
1974 & 1982:Started Technical Collaboration and became licensee
1985 & 1987:
– Achieved first position in the Pharmaceutical Market of Bangladesh
– Became pioneer in exporting pharmaceutical products.
1991: SQUARE Pharmaceuticals went public

1998: Agrochemicals and Veterinary Products Division.
2004: SQUARE Pharmaceuticals Ltd was enlisted as UNICEF’s global
supplier.
2009: SQUARE Pharmaceuticals began manufacturing insulin, hormone
and steroid products maintaining quality standards of US FDA and UK
MHRA.

Before January 2011 Orion Pharmacy was called Orion laboratories. In
2013 Orion Pharma went public by floating its shares in the Dhaka Stock
Exchange. It had submitted its IPO prospectus in 2011 to regulators. From
2016 Orion started to offer 20 medical scholarship as part of its corporate
social responsibility. In February 2017 it borrowed 34 million dollar from
the German BHF-Bank to finance expansion.
