More than an umbrella term, open science is moving towards broadening and integrating the open access movement to scholarly literature on other fronts, such as open scientific data, open scientific tools, open notebook science, open education, and citizen science.
This “movement of movements” transforms the scenario and the dynamics of science collaboration, communication and dissemination, expanding its ability to respond to contemporary new and complex issues, while posing new challenges. On the one hand, new possibilities arise for the generation of social, economic and environmental benefits, as well as innovation, associated to increased reach, speed and quality of production and circulation of scientific knowledge, its results and possible uses. On the other hand, new institutional and technological requirements are imposed on the adoption of open research policies, strategies, and practices (regulations, capacities, infrastructures, and tools), and the costs derived therefrom. A new economics of open science is being developed, together with new business models, with repercussions on the present and future of scientific journals and their relationship with other scientific publication and publicization systems emerging from this framework, as well as with the monitoring, evaluation and research financing apparatuses.
At the same time, it is about facing the challenge of bridging the gap between science (and its various forms of data availability) and policy. Today there is an abyss in this interface that should be narrowing so that, increasingly, political decisions, particularly those that affect social and environmental issues more directly are based on quality and plural science. To strengthen this relationship, efforts are needed to reconcile languages and times that allow virtuous dialogue between these two fields.
In the end, it is also important to recognize the different implications of this changing scenario regarding more and less developed countries, placing new opportunities and barriers for their science, technology and innovation systems and their respective repositioning in the global scenario.

The leather industry is one of the oldest traditional industries. It makes a significant contribution
towards economic growth, balanced regional development, employment generation and overall
poverty reduction in the field of leather and allied product manufacturing. The dramatic spread of
Covid-19 has threatened human lives, disrupted livelihoods, and affected trade, economy, and
businesses across the globe. This pandemic situation is an alarming humanitarian crisis that seeks
intensive care and support from the public’s health, livelihood, employment, and income of citizens
remains questionable. So, companies start to engage in CSR activities in order to respond to a
Corporate Governance towards Philanthropic activities during the Covid-19 Pandemic. While taking
into consideration the effects of CSR, it is vigorously affected both companies and consumers. This
research paper mainly concentrates on the impact of the Socio-Economic condition of Leather-based
Industries in Vellore district, Tamil Nadu. This study was conducted using a qualitative approach and
data analysis techniques using descriptive statistics. The results of the study found that the spread of
Covid-19 had a major economic and social impact on the employees working in leather-based
industries. This research attempts to explore the socio-economic impact of CSR-initiated leatherbased
industries during the Covid-19 pandemic. Profoundly, some positive effects can be seen in
terms of improved air quality, water quality, wildlife but the sustainability of such impact is

- 4. CASE STUDY: The case tries to describe the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on business globally and locally. Information explains how the COVID-19 pandemic spread globally form China and created a health crisis across the world. As on end of August, 2020, COVID-19 had spread to more than 200 countries. Many confirmed cases and deaths have been recorded across the world till date. In addition to the human impact, there is also a significant business impact begin felt globally and the impact growing bigger. Top global companies are found to have been disrupted by the pandemic. The loss is yet to be calculated. The most immediate business impact of the COVID-19 pandemic is a major disruption in supply chains. The response and strategies implemented by businesses to tackle the implications of pandemic is noteworthy. In Nepal too, researchers, academicians, industrialists, business companies and others are conducting surveys on the impacts of pandemic on business and industries. In this context, few management students are asked to carry out a survey on ‘The Impact of disease on Supply Chain.” a. What should be the method(s) of collecting data on the above mentioned topic?
