“Awa ririki” is the Ngāti Te Ata term for “streams” or
“estuaries”.
“Ngōu” and “ngāu” are the Ngāti Te Ata terms for “ōu/wōu”
and “āu/wāu” as used by other tribes to mean yours (plural).
