3. Why should a company invest in Businesses Connected Event?
You’re investing in your own company!
This event may be a small & short investment, but for the company itself
it’s a long-term investment in its pool of young human resource. A lot of
companies find it difficult in these fast-changing times to hold on to
employees, which is why there’s a great deal of competition between
businesses when it comes to talented employees. What AIESEC offers is
the opportunity for the company to develop their young employees and at
the same time ensure them a pleasant environment in which to share
their own perspectives.
Efficiency in every way!
AIESEC in Latvia is taking care of all logistical matters, as well as,
provide education and networking opportunities by approaching
interesting topics, creating a frame of debates upon now-days issues
and arranging a networking environment for all participants to
connect and share ideas, enlarge their network of contacts and get
new perspectives.
Work with an experienced association!
For over 60 years, AIESEC- as the largest youth association-
has been constantly looking to develop new ideas and
improve our organizational development & performance by
aligning society’s needs with our resources, potential and
values!

4. Propositions for session topics:
- Based upon ‘Systems Thinking’
Systems Thinking has been defined as an approach to problem solving, by
viewing "problems" as parts of an overall system, rather than reacting to
specific part, outcomes or events and potentially contributing to further
development of unintended consequences.
- Based upon ‘NLP’ (Neuro-Linguistic Programming)
NLP is a pragmatic school of thought - an 'epistemology' - that addresses the many
levels involved in being human. NLP is a multi-dimensional process that involves the
development of behavioral competence and flexibility, but also involves strategic
thinking and an understanding of the mental and cognitive processes behind behavior.
NLP is about self-discovery, exploring identity and mission. It also provides a framework
for understanding and relating to the 'spiritual' part of human experience that reaches
beyond us as individuals to our family, community and global systems.
- Based upon the ‘Work-Life Balance’ Concept
Work–life balance is a broad concept including proper prioritizing between
"work" (career and ambition) on one hand and "life" (Health, pleasure, leisure,
family and spiritual development) on the other.

5. Topic propositions for Debates,
Round tables / Panel Discussion
- Facing exponential times
Nowadays, the rate of change is accelerating: dynamics of societies, economies, relationships, business, and even
knowledge are continuously and rapidly transforming. Therefore, what should be analyzed is not whether it is
actually occurring or not, but what to do to face it.
- Economic development in a Dynamic World
When studying the dynamics of the economy as a concatenation of events, different economic models appear in
order to describe the actual scenarios. Even though the macroeconomic and business structures interact with their
economic context, we should analyze these independently to be able to understand the effect they have on their
fields. Is long-term planning possible in this new business scenario?
- Building Tomorrow’s Education, Transforming the Educational Model
The concept of education is defined as "learning at any stage of life, both at school and in everyday life”. We live
surrounded by people who shape us through their actions, therefore, we can conclude that education is affected by
society. At the same time, this one is constantly changing because of the new technologies, adapting faster each
time. Hence, is education also modified? And if not, should it be?
- Positioning strategies for sustainable development in society
The concept of CSR is no longer a pioneer concept. A variety of stakeholders are now actively involved in
the debate about CSR, business responsibility and the wider question of positioning business and its role
and responsibilities in relation to other actors, such as the state and civil society.
- Academic qualification ensures success in life?
Academic qualifications are commonly felt to give a person the best chance of success in life. How far is this
true?
- Threats in business
In today's post-downturn economy, a variety of business risks have emerged - and some have become more
prominent. Risks in Regulation and compliance, Access to credit, Slow recovery or double-dip recession,
Managing talent, Emerging Markets, Cost-cutting etc.
