To Whom It MayConcern,
I am writing to provide a personal reference for LorenzoMagni, who wasa student for a month at New College Group,
Manchester, but alsoaninternfor several months tooduringthe summer of 2015. I understand that he wishes to utilise
his English language skillsfor future endeavours, and I believe that he has the capacityto be able to utilise his excellent
English skills in many educational and work environments .
Lorenzo was a verydedicatedstudent whoput maximumeffort intohislearning, which resulted in him moving from a
respectable upper-intermediate level (B2)of Englishto advanced level (C1). His fluencyandaccuracyskills developedquite
considerablyduring his studytime andI believe that his level ofEnglishwouldhelp him effectively communicate with a
wide-variety of people but also comprehend a wide -ranging and complex set of texts.
During his internshiptime at the College, Lorenzoundertooka wide varietyof roles and tasks which carried out with great
success and professionalism. Lorenzo worked in the academic department, admissions department and also the
compliance department while at NCG. On a dailybasis, Lorenzo workedinthe admissions department, where he became a
front desk receptionist in the main buildings to helpassist students, staffandmembers of the public on a wide -array of
requests andneeds. Inthe academic department he undertookduties suchas guiding students on the virtual learning
platform, leading student tours, editing andcreatingthe student newsletter, and also assisting and coordinating the
College’s social activities. In the compliance department Lorenzoplayed a key role in attaining student feedback and
analysis with all students inthe College. Duringhis time as an intern, it was clear to see that Lorenzo not only grew in
confidence in his language ability, he also became a great member of the team because he is suchan affable, hardworking
and friendly individual.
On a more personal note, I foundLorenzoto be a reallykind and friendlyperson. He is able to mix with people easily and
supportedand encouraged other students and colleagues in the college. He hasexceptional communication skills and a
great deal of empathy towards others; he is very much a people person.
I believe that Lorenzowouldsuit manyaneducationaland working environment as he has anexcellent arrayof skills and
knowledge, along with having a great personality too.
