The noun publication comes from the Latin
word publicare, meaning “make public.”
According to Cambridge dictionary
the act of making information or stories
available to people in a printed or
electronic form
Printed and online magazines,
newspapers, flyers, newsletters, scholarly
journals, ads, blogs, blog posts, catalogs,
etc...

the owner of intellectual property. In
simpler terms, copyright is the right
to copy.

LAW
Copyright laws protect works of
authorship. Hence, teachers and
students need to learn more about
copyright laws and copyright acts to
ensure that there will be no copyright
infringements that will happen in the
process of authoring or publishing
materials offline or online.

6. Literary works
• a non-dramatic textual work
with or without illustrations.
They may be published or
nonpublished. Computer
programs and databases also
are considered literary works.
Dramatic work
• scenic arrangement or
acting, a form of which is
forced in writing or otherwise
but does not include a
cinematograph film.
Musical works
• refers to written musical scores in
the form of sheet music,
broadsheets, or other notation. A
recording of a musical work is
protected separately as a sound
recording.

7. Motion pictures and
other audiovisual works
• an audiovisual work consisting of a
series of related images that impart
an impression of motion when
shown in succession along with
accompanying sounds is called a
motion picture.
Sound recordings
• works that result from the
fixation of a series of
musical, spoken, or other
sounds.
Architectural works
the design of a building as embodied in
any tangible medium of expression,
including a building, architectural plans,
or drawings, and includes the overall form
as well as the arrangement and
composition of spaces and elements in
the design.

8. Pantomimes and
choreographic works
• choreography is the composition and arrangement of dance movements and patterns
usually intended to be accompanied by music. While pantomime is the art of imitating or
acting out situations, characters, or other events.
