Start Connecting with Businesses
What types of businesses do you feel comfortable promoting?
• Everyone has an industry they know well or experience in a field. Use
your experience to choose from businesses to promote.
• i.e. gyms/personal trainers, salons/barbers, restaurants/bars,
contractors, photographers, dry cleaners, wedding planners,
doctors/dentists, taxi services, landscapers, retail shops, bakeries,
plumbers
Once you’ve identified a business you want to promote, search for them
using the search function on the network page and invite them to connect
with you.
• The more businesses you connect with the more deals you will have
access to.
If a certain business is not on the system, invite them to join the platform.
• Use the search function and invite businesses not on the network by
providing their email address. Be proactive! Contact businesses not on
the network and obtain their email so you can invite them via the
LocalMaven platform. An old-fashioned phone call is effective as is an
email.
• Just ask them to register so you can connect with them. We would also
be happy to help contact them on your behalf.
Use the “Businesses seeking Mavens” feature on your network page.
• Find out what businesses are in need of promoters like you! The more
business you promote, the more commissions you will make.
• Make sure you have a public profile that is enticing to businesses
seeking Mavens. They may just find you online and want to connect.
Tip: Mavens are better Mavens when the business is one they patronize and
are proud to support and promote! If you genuinely believe in the business you
are promoting, people will naturally want to learn more about it. This means
more commissions and money in your pocket.
