2. Begin with math
• Previously I had reviewed a paper related to fractional calculus and later I was interested in this subject. Derivative or
differential order is integer as usual but such order in fractional calculus can be real or complex, for example, it is possible
to take ½-order derivative of x. I intended to research fractional calculus in deep and considered that such kind of calculus
can be a new area but I was surprised that fractional calculus was invented from Newton age and often applied into
solving physical problems recently. Indeed, mathematics (math) is vast and near to philosophy; great mathematicians in
ancient/middle ages are often philosophers or love philosophy.
• It requires passion and deep meditation to research mathematical problems. The passion leads to the patient that is the key
factor for success of any scientists. Mathematical researches do not require much of equipment and facility conditions;
hence, in despite of difficulty in Vietnam in the past, math has still established and developed strongly. In Vietnam, about
science in general and basic science in specific, it is possible to say that math reaches the biggest achievement with
excellent contributions along with preeminent mathematicians. I think that two most “mathematic” sub-areas are abstract
algebra and functional analysis. Seemingly we misunderstood that there are detailed and complex computations with
confused numbers in math but, in fact, the character of math is the abstraction and generalization. When researching
abstract algebra and functional analysis, we recognize that there are philosophical ideas which are dispersing in math.
Until someday, we can verify some similar ideologies between math and philosophy, Buddhism.

3. Begin with math
• Computer science (CS) including information technology is based directly on math and of course, it has a strong relationship
with math. Artificial intelligence (AI), a branch of CS, applied math into solving many complicated workaday problems,
which shows a ten-thousand-mile step that connects basic science and applied technology. If math is considered as
philosophy, it is impossible to imagine a new miracle raised. However, if being more conscious, we will recognize that it is
not necessary to comprehend math in deep level of theoretical definitions and theorems in order to understand and use AI
methods. At the other hand, it is necessary to state that CS is closer to math than other applied scientific domains.
• Anyhow, in Vietnam, due to the new development of industry 4.0 and the traditional competence in math, upholding the
interest in math is necessary. Like the chicken and egg relationship, conversely upholding the interest needs the traditional
competence in math, math-learning curriculum, and upcountry/international mathematical contests. The important problem
is how to balance the math training and the restriction of mind degradation caused by overloaded study because the
contributions and achievements require long-term researching. Moreover, there are the balances between many professions,
between individual interests and social demands. In general, it is not easy to solve this problem.
• Previously, there is the criticism of wasting research results in basic science like math when they are often unapplied. A
leader answered that it is required a long-time development for modern technologies to apply or realize some basic science
researches. Moreover, I think that a high-quality research in basic science always contributes findings or knowledge into the
treasure of human knowledge even though it is not applied right now yet. This contribution not only fertilizes human
knowledge like “hundreds of rivers poured into the sea” but also keeps alive the life of science which means upholding the
torse of mankind civilization.

4. Human future is tech future
• Within western civilization, math is foundation of science and so, technology is prolonged
arm of science which aims to solve concrete problems. Indeed, math reflects rationalism
because its core is logic study. In other words, science & tech is instance of rationalism.
Recent developments in tech such as simplest artificial cell and AI manifest human
aspiration to conquer nature and universe.
• Current mankind and other creatures experienced numberless obstacles and hazards in the
long evolution process. Moreover, our civilization and history are formed by struggles and
conflicts. This is fighting instinct which help us to step out the misty beginning times.
• Therefore, we must not be pessimistic about recent problems related to wars, pandemic,
energy shortage, carbon emission. The combination of our tech and our fighting instinct
will solve such problems. Miraculously, we transform the fighting instinct into tech, which
is slightly similar to use sport to alleviate war risk.

5. Human future is tech future
• If you accept my opinion about fighting instinct and tech, we can
agree that human future is tech future (the future of science and
technology).
• For instance, I share the same opinion with the billionaire Elon Musk.
He said we should create residential wards on the Mars. These
colonies will prevent risks such as war and doom on the Earth.
Moreover, biotechnological invents aim to the limit of immortality.
• Therefore, instead of human-human fighting, we “struggle” with The
Creator by the “weapon” of science.

6. Mergence of science and philosophy
• Recall that science & tech is instance of rationalism with experiments and tests. In pure science, there is
no immutable believes. Furthermore, science ignores spirit world or metaphysical world like
mysterious rules, God, Brahma although science does not actually negate such worlds. However, recent
progresses in modern physics indicate the large impact of spirit world; for instance, there is a viewpoint
that our inside viewpoint or our mind forms the physical world that we have been seeing. In my
previous research “Alaya Vijanana and Psychoanalysis”, I proved that there is no separation between
spirit world and physical world according to viewpoint of Yogachara; in other words, spirit world is
physical world according to viewpoint of Yogachara.
• Modern science is concerning the limit of spirit world and psyche phenomenon with broken and
doubtful steps. So, we should not expect too much about breaking discoveries in explaining spirit world
but obviously, science is moving near to philosophy and our inside mind. Please pay attention that logic
study – the most essential core of science leans toward philosophy and psychology is not actually
experimental scientific field.
