He was born on 1 February 1971 in Jamnagar, Gujarat. He
was a regular in the Indian cricket team, playing in 15 Test
matches and 196 One Day Internationals. His relatives
include K. S. Ranjitsinhji, after whom the Ranji Trophy is
named, and K. S. Duleepsinhji, for whom the Duleep Trophy
is named. In 2015, he was appointed as the main coach for
Delhi cricket team but he resigned from the post. He is
