2. PURPOSE: To assist the Cattery Department and
its staff with playing with cats, cleaning, caring for
the animals and helping with special projects, when
assigned.
DEPARTMENT: Cattery
SCHEDULE: 1 or more days a week, 8:00 am to
11:00 am, Mon, Tues, Thurs, Sat & Sun
REPORTS TO: Haley Williams
Cattery Volunteer
3. • Should be prepared to clean and scrub 10
or more litter boxes
• Clean, brush and wash all furniture, bedding
and blankets
• Clean floors of urine, vomit, etc., then
sweep and scrub floors with bleach and
water
• Clean all counters, walls and surfaces,
including under counters and sinks
• Assist with laundry
• All outside areas also need the same
sweeping and scrubbing as indoor areas
• After cleaning, if time permits, socialize with
cats

4. • Must be comfortable around cats and
also have basic knowledge of cats
• Should be prepared for occasional
bites and scratches
• Must be able to lift 25lbs., and ability
to work with strong odors and cleaning
chemicals

TRAINING
• After completing volunteer interviews and
online orientation, the volunteer will learn
on-the-job with cattery supervisor and staff.
