This three-day hands-on course on computer-guided surgeries will take place December 4-6, 2013 at Georgia Regents University. Day 1 will include presentations and workshops on planning virtual surgeries using 3D software. Day 2 and 3 will involve live surgeries on patients, with time for reviewing scans and planning in the mornings and simultaneous surgeries in the afternoons. The course is limited to 30 doctors, with operating doctors performing surgeries on two of their own patients and observing doctors observing multiple procedures. The course aims to train dentists on computer-guided implant placement.

Dr. Virgil Mongalo • Course Director
Virgil Mongalo, DMD, is an Associate Professor of Implant Surgeries at Georgia
Regents University Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Augusta,
Georgia. He is also Director of Live Implant Training Course taught at the
Dominican Republic, Mexico, Brazil, and Nicaragua. He is a pioneer in the field
of implant education and is dedicated to training dentists all over the world. Past
teaching appointments include Associate Professor in Implant Dentistry at the
University of Florida Hialeah Clinic, maxi-course director at the University of Miami
Department of Oral/Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Mark Stevens • Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon
Mark Stevens, DDS, is Chairman of Georgia Regents University, Department of
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He was the past associate professor of surgery and
director of Orthognathic Surgery and TMJ Center at University of Miami School of
Medicine, and past associate professor of surgery and director of Orthognathic
Surgery and TMJ Center at University of Miami School of Medicine. His special
interests are correction of dental facial deformities and cosmetic practice in all
phases of oral surgery. He is author of multiple surgical publications.
Dr. Henry Ferguson • Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon
Henry Ferguson, DMD, currently holds the positions of Vice Chair and Director of
Post Graduate Training for Oral Maxillofacial Surgery, Georgia Regents University.
He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the
National Dental Board of Anesthesia. His special interests in oral and maxillofacial
surgery are dental implants, facial reconstruction, and trauma. He is currently the
Chairman of Membership for the AAOMS.
Dr. Solon Kao • Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon
Solon Kao, DDS, is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial
Surgery and also a Diplomate of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology.
He is currently Assistant Professor of Surgery at the School of Medicine in
Georgia Regents University, Augusta, Georgia. Dr. Kao lectures extensively at
the AAMOS meetings and has published articles on various autologous grafting
methods for dental implant reconstruction.
Dr. Thomas J. Balshi • Board Certified Prosthodontist
Thomas J. Balshi, DDS, PhD, is a Board Certified Prosthodontist and the
founder of The Institute For Facial Esthetics in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania.
His forty-year career in dental medicine includes graduate and post-graduate
degrees from Temple University School of Dentistry and prosthetic implant
training at both the University of Toronto and The Institute For Applied
Biotechnology in Gothenburg, Sweden.
