HIGHLIGHTS OF KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Provided strategic counsel and support to the St. Louis Philanthropic Organization during its
transition and strategic planning efforts to improve electronic files and grants management system,
develop new mission statement and guiding principles, revise and launch expanded grantmaking
priorities and increase community profile among area funding and nonprofit organizations.
Led revision and implementation of the Greater Saint Louis Community Foundation’s (GSTLCF)
discretionary grant making program.
Developed and successfully launched GSTLCF’s first three-year issue-focused initiative, which
exceeded the projected number of clients to be served by more than 30 percent and leveraged new
and additional dollars and other support of the funded agencies and similar programs.
Provided strategic counsel and grantmaking services to the Episcopal-Presbyterian and Charitable
Health and Medical Trust, totally restructuring and implementing its new grantmaking program.
Developed and successfully launched the Trust’s first three-year initiative, which exceeded the
number of people projected to be served collectively by the grantee organizations by almost 15
percent and leveraged over $12 million in funding for programming and capital support.
Worked with the Nonprofit Services Center’s contracted external evaluator to revised organization’s
logic model and overall evaluation framework to guide NSC’s evaluation activities, including the

development of metrics/key indicators to be used across programs. Developed additional evaluation
tools to enhance tracking of the programs’ short-term, interim and longer-term outcomes.
Assisted the Lutheran Foundation of St. Louis in its strategic planning efforts to develop two new
grantmaking focus areas for multi-year funding for 2014-2018. Consulting services included:
environmental scan and report on four potential issues with grantmaking recommendations;
grantmaking goals for the two selected areas with funding priorities and grantmaking strategies;
eligibility criteria; and the creation of intended outcomes and indicators for evaluative purposes.
In concert with St. Louis Rams Foundation, provided strategic counsel, Foundation funding and
actively participated in strategic planning process which led to the formation of the Healthy Youth
Partnership, involving more than 70 organizations that address youth health and wellness.
Provided board orientation and training as well as facilitated strategic planning retreat for local
nonprofit, resulting in revised vision and mission statements, development of value statements and
tagline, revised board committee structure and a two-year plan aimed at building and strengthening
the organization’s governance, systems and programs.
Developed a grantmaking framework for Lutheran Foundation of St. Louis in 2008 for a multi-year,
targeted grantmaking effort addressing two critical community issues through its Health and Human
Care focus area. The framework included: issue research; grantmaking goals, funding priorities and
grantmaking strategies; evaluation strategies; an initial context for policy work; and resources and
recommendations for the development of the new grant application and review criteria.
Currently providing infrastructure and programmatic support to local philanthropic organization
which will result in reorganization of electronic files; revision and/or development of operating
policies and procedures; updated database content and management; enhanced grant reporting and
monitoring; and tools/strategies to support new funding program and priorities.
