was able to get to know Lily last summer while she was an intern at the Long Beach Youth
Institute Summer Program. For over eight weeks, Lily worked alongside my staff working with
over sixty low­income youth teaching digital media arts. Lily is a very bright young woman
whose devotion to a high level of excellence is unparalleled. She is a quick learner and has
demonstrated the ability to adapt to ever­changing situations with ease.
Ms. Stone has the ability to work with youth on multiple levels not only as an instructor
and teacher to them but as a friend and mentor as well. Through this method, she was able to
facilitate immense growth and harness the learning potential of everyone around her. Not only
that but Lily has demonstrated an innate ability to effectively collaborate with others and improve
the quality of every project she is involved in.
