ASSIGNMENT
Softech Mfek is a local book publisher in Kisumu with its client network all over the country and
across east Africa countries and intends to expand to the global arena, its main operation is to
publish book from various authors and sell. They have been faced with several challenges
ranging international competitors who are now able to use internet and practice the pure
ecommerce, raising cost of operations, the use of outdated equipment and delayance in the
delivery time to clients etc. The management of this firm has decided to use ecommerce platform
to give them the competitive edge in the market.
Clients are to interact with system directly and go through the publishing process, ordering,
payment, querying and the absolute operation by himself.
Requirement:
i. Justify development option
ii. Identify the major components of the ecommerce infrastructure for firm.
iii. Identify the function and the details needed in the development process
iv. Discuss the managerial challenges Softech Mfek might face with the new ecommerce
infrastructure.
