Yoga practices (physical postures, breathing, and
meditation) by pregnant women 1 h daily
resulted in

27. THE EFFECTS OF YOGA DURING PREGNANCY ON MATERNAL
PSYCHOLOGICAL AND PHYSICAL DISTRESS.
• Women practicing yoga in their SECOND TRIMESTER
reported significant reductions in physical pain
specially backache from baseline to post intervention.
• Women in their THIRD TRIMESTER showed greater
reductions in perceived stress , trait anxiety &
obstetric complications.
• Conclusion :- it is clear that yoga can be used to
prevent or reduce obstetric complications.
