Flying has contributed greatly to the author's personal and professional development. It has made them more organized by requiring careful planning and preparation. Flying has also improved their math skills, as pilots must constantly calculate variables like wind, speed, and distance during flight. Additionally, flying helped develop the author's leadership skills by teaching them to delegate tasks, assume responsibilities, and make decisions through structured discussions with co-pilots. Most of all, flying simply makes the author happier by providing a feeling of freedom and the ability to interact with nature from above.

3. MY PASSION FOR FLYING AND ITS POSITIVE INFLUENCE
In 2013, I concluded my airline pilot training and issued a
professional pilot‘s license. Even though I do not work as a
pilot, I improved many skills that surely contributed to my
personal and professional development.

6. FLYING MADE ME MORE ORGANISED
A good flight starts hours before the take-off. Research the
weather, calculate the mass and balance, organise the
route and estimate the fuel are just some of the tasks a
pilot should do before flying. In the cockpit, things change
fast and you have to be structured in order to cope with
route changes or any eventual causalities.

8. FLYING IMPROVED MY MATH SKILLS
During a flight, a pilot has to calculate wind factor, drift,
speed, distance and track. And all of that without taking the
hands out of the stick and the power throttle. A successful
pilot needs to estimate and have good mental calculation in
order to guarantee an efficient flight.

10. FLYING MADE ME A BETTER LEADER
In a multi-crew environment, you have to exercise
constantly your leadership. Use all the resources available,
delegate tasks and assume responsabilities. To conduct a
safe flight, discussions between the co-pilot and the
captain should have open questions and structure, in order
to collect the necessary information to take a decision.

12. FLYING MADE ME HAPPIER
It is great to have the feeling of freedom, the view from
above and the interaction with nature. I believe birds are
the happiest animals on Earth.
