In March 2013 I landed a Jobon the Rampat Gatwick withMenzies Aviation working mainlyonthe Easyjet product. As
Ramp agent I was responsible for loading and offloading luggage from the aircraft holdmaking sure we hit the
performance targets set bythe Gatwickairfieldperformance team. Other keyroles involved were liaising andassistingwith
the RampLeadAgent/Turn-around-Co-ordinater to ensure an efficient turnaroundof our customer airines’s aircraft. I also
had to drive, checkgroundequipment and report anyfaults that mayhave occurred.
Due to myenthusiasm for flying andworking at the airport I obtained a promotionto Turn-aroundCo-ordinator (TCO) for
the busysummer periodandas ofNovember 2014 I became a permanent TCO. As TCO I was responsible for ensuring a
safe andefficient turn-aroundof the aircraft whilst maintaining ontime performance andadheringto AAA/health and
safetyregulations. As well as this, I hadto make sure the aircraft was loaded andboarded in line withweight andbalance
procedures and that anyservices required were at the aircraft intime. Anydelays were reportedandcorrectlyfiledalong
with official aircraft documentation.
In 2016, I joinedAirline Services where I tookon the same job role but broadenedmyrange ofaircraft andairline
experience. Airline Serviceshas an impressive portfolioof about 20 airlines- andI’mluckyto sayover the last 2 years I have
been able to workwith themall. I got to workwith leading UKcharter airlines such as Monarch, TUI airlines- doing both
short and longhaul. RecentlyI took it uponmyself to learn newskills working alongside the operations supervisor. I learnt
to update the Target-Off-Blocks time for aircraft on minimumturn around, senddeparture and arrival messages through
various systems andother tasks requiredin the operations role. Thisshows that I ammotivatedandkeen to expandmy
skills andprogress mycareer.
