Post-Production – Print Advert
First of all I wanted to capture some photos
of people being active, so on a very snowy
day in December I went to Goals Soccer
Centre in Sunderland to take some photos of
me and a few others playing football. I set
my camera to the shutter speed setting to
control the motion blur of people running
and kicking the ball etc. This made about
90% of the images turn out great. Some of
the images were out of focus as the camera
wouldn’t use automatic focus so it had to be
done manually. Once we got the hang of it,
the images turned out great and were just
what I wanted.
Then it was about picking the ones which I liked and also showed being active. So after filtering through I chose
three images which I thought were worthy of a print advert.
Firstly I cut out what I didn’t
want blurring and inversed
the selected section to blur
the rest/what I wanted
blurring out by using motion
blur. This created a cool
effect on my model as if
there was a mist coming off
him.
Post-Production – Print Advert -
Editing
Next I cut out
the top half of
my model and
duplicated the
layer so that
any bit of text
could fit nicely
behind his
head
Then I added my text with the slogan “Keep Your Cool”
which I use in another one of my print adverts. I created a
glitch effect for the text using these settings in layer style. I
didn’t combine the layers to make a smart object as I liked
the opacity the two layers had.
Finally create the glitch effect on both the
ball and the better health logo to stick with
the theme of the print advert
