I am often asked about why I changed careers to set up Bodyshot. My career has always
been in sales, beginning at a start-up (which was a lot of fun) and subsequently in large
corporates. Initially I loved what I did but as time went on, I began to realise that perhaps
this type of environment wasn’t ideal for me. By the end of my City career, I was working
in a job and a professional environment which I disliked, and had no sense of authenticity
about it. I had been living very unhealthily for years, and eventually found myself burned
out and heading for a crash. It was reaching this low point in my life that I realised things
had to change. I resigned and took some time off to reconsider what I really wanted to do
with my time.
THE BODYSHOT JOURNEY BEGINS
I started Bodyshot Personal Training in June 2012 operating as a sole trader, and we be-
came a limited company in April 2014. My motives were threefold: I wanted to run my own
business; I wanted to help and empower other people to take control of their health; and I
wanted to do something that provided me with a structure for healthy
living. It was a period of rapid growth for us; we are now a team of six
people and we have plans to scale the business further this year in both
the personal training and DNA sides of the business.

WHO WE WORK WITH
We work with professional women who want to exceed their fitness and weight manage-
ment goals. Our client is time-poor, and therefore wants to work with a personal trainer
who has the tools and experience to ensure that she can reach her goals sustainably and
efficiently. The one-size-fits-all approach to diet and exercise is outdated.
At Bodyshot we have a lot of experience and insight into helping our clients achieve results
rapidly through highly personalised programs. This can also include a DNA test which en-
ables us to give more specific and informed advice to our clients and removes the need for
guesswork.
Every member of the Bodyshot team has come to personal training from very different but
busy careers, and so we totally understand our core client, and we have a lot of experience
and insight into how to help them achieve results.

Each of us has had a professional
career prior to personal training, so
we understand our core client and
the challenges of a busy lifestyle.
We pride ourselves on building ex-
cellent rapport with our clients. We
were not always the embodiment
of fitness, so we understand the
challenges that face our clients,
and have the tools to help them
based on personal experience.
How it works
There is an initial consultation
which is free and takes place at
your home. We will talk about you,
your goals and physical wellbeing,
and record your blood pressure
and resting heart rate. The per-
sonal training sessions are tailored
specifically to you, your fitness lev-
el and goals, and the sessions are
varied so your body doesn’t get
used to it and you don’t get bored.

We recognise that not everyone
comes to us with the same goals
or fitness levels, and some people
can commit to training more
frequently than others, so we’ve
created three packages for our
clients:
Our Silver package includes one
personal training session per week
based on a monthly standing
order. This package is ideal for
someone who is already doing
a class or some form of exercise
already but wants the benefit of a
weekly personal training session to
provide motivation, get new ideas
and get to their goals quicker.
Our Gold package includes
two personal training sessions
per week based on a monthly
standing order. This package is
ideal for someone who has little
time to exercise outside of the
sessions, and wants the guidance
and expertise of a personal trainer
twice a week to ensure they hit
their goals quickly and safely.
Why three options

Our Flexi package includes 20
personal training sessions which
are purchased upfront and can
be booked on an ad-hoc basis.
This package is ideal for someone
who has a very busy lifestyle
and can’t commit to one or two
regular sessions per week. The
Flexi package includes Bodyshot
Performance™ Plus (the DNA test).

they can remove the guesswork from what
they’re doing.
Gold standard testing based on DNA
We use gold standard testing to design
highly personalised diet and exercise pro-
grams. There are three versions of the test
– Lite, Plus and Pro – and there is a useful
tool on our website to help you understand
which version is right for you. We use what
we believe to be the best test in the mar-
ket, to ensure that we can deliver integrity
of results.

really switched on health-wise and really
just need high grade feedback and a plan
to support their current program based on
their unique DNA results.
Some need more help interpreting the re-
sults, and then designing an exercise and
diet plan. We can also offer support imple-
menting that plan.
We recognise that many of our clients are
relatively new to diet and exercise, and will
therefore need a lot of help and support.
That’s why we offer three different versions
called Bodyshot Performance™ Lite, Plus
and Pro. All three packages use cutting
edge technology that’s revolutionising the
fitness world.

Why gold
standard
testing?
Gold standard testing based on your unique DNA
removes the guesswork for both clients and personal
trainers.
Our clients have tried a lot of approaches and they like
the fact that they finally have the right program that is
100% suited to their genetic profile. More importantly,
it works.

What is genetic testing and why is it important
Bodyshot Performance™ Lite, Plus and Pro incorporates the results of a
genetic test that assesses two subsets of data and approximately 50 dom-
inant genes. One subset relates to fitness and the other to diet.
Without this kind of information, it can take longer to get to your goals,
and you have to make guesses and assumptions about the best way to do
things.
Simple to self-administer
The genetic test is self-administered using a mouth swab and takes less
than a minute. You then return the sample to the DNA laboratory in the UK,
where they analyse the results and then interpret them into a detailed set
of reports which are sent back to Bodyshot. We then set up your online por-
tal access and arrange the consultation (not available in the Lite version).

Interpretation and program design
During the consultation we analyse the results and what
it means for your diet and exercise plan. This is where the
value is. You will be assigned to one of our health experts
who will go through your reports and draw up an action
plan for you to follow. You will also receive a complimentary 15 minute follow up session a
few weeks after the consultation to check-in with us.
