Mining, Webware, Computer Architecture, Analysis of Algorithms, Applied Crypto and Physical Attacks
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Software Engineering Intern at Microsoft, May 2015 – August 2015
- used the Windows Ink Analyzer in order to build the Shape Recognition feature in One Note
- used the Windows Indexer to integrate speed the searches on the analyzed ink present in OneNote Notebooks
CS Summer Internship at Riverbed Technology, May 2014 – August 2014
- designed and implemented the first RESTful API tree resource of the company.
- changed the Network Navigation Tree API to allow imports from JSON instead of XML
- worked very closely in touch with the UI team and the tree was already being used by the end of the internship.
CS Summer Internship at Riverbed Technology, May 2013 – August 2013
- designed and built six of the first RESTful APIs of the company in C++ on a MVC Framework.
- wrote the models and the controllers along with automated unit tests and performance tests for each one of them.
- the code is currently being used in Riverbed SteelCentral NetProfiler
Teaching Assistant of CS Department – Spring 2016
- Tutored Intro to Artificial Intelligence. Offered mini lectures in Search, Machine Learning, and Probabilistic Algorithms.
- Currently tutoring Theory of Computation
PROJECTS & AWARDS:
Privacy of Crowdsourced Images (Independent study)
- researched a solution for keeping images private on the web using crowdsourcing platforms
- built an interface in PHP/Javascript that allowed people annotate private content and integrated it with Crowdflower
- designed an algorithm to detect private parts from people’s annotations
Best Project Award - Software Engineering Project (CS3733)
- project manager of a team of 15 people to develop in 7 weeks a calendar with commitments and events scheduling
- Agile Methodologies, Pair Programming, Test-Driven Development, weekly iterations, weekly presentations.
Hanto Game – Object Oriented Analysis and Design (CS4233)
- implemented 5 versions of the Hanto Game with different pieces capabilities using several Object Oriented Design Patterns
- built an AI player for the most complex version that ranked in the upper half of the final course tournament.
Side-Channel Resisting Crypto (Major Qualifying Project)
- implemented a version of Simon Cipher on t-private circuits secured to side channel attacks on FPGAs
- at the time it was the smallest side-channel resisting crypto engine in the world (about 80 slices)
Real-Time Embedded Systems (ECE3849)
- designed a real-time oscilloscope on board using both prioritized interrupts and using the RTOS features of the board
- debugged shared data issues on multiple threads and fulfilled tight memory constraints
WPI Baby Cough Monitor (ECE2799)
- designed and built a Baby Cough Monitor in a team of 3 people that helps doctor identify pulmonary diseases from early ages.
- I coded an Amazon EC2 Server using Apache and PHP to store the data in the cloud.
- used an Arduino YUN board to process the input, identify coughs and send them to the Cloud.
Charles O. Thompson Scholar - WPI 2012-2013
