PROJECTS
MapReduce Framework Java, AWS, Shell, Python
Built a MapReduce system like Apache Hadoop that can run both in parallel on EC2 instances and sequentially (or threaded) on local machine.
System uses worker and master nodes along with S3 as a Distributed File System to handle job requests from client.
Handwritten Scanned Document Retrieval [Research, CLEF 2016] Java, Lucene
Developed a system that handles free text search in old manuscripts for which the user wants to find sections of the document for a given
multiple word textual query. System handles words that were not seen in the data used for learning the recognition models.
Virtual Basketball Android, Firebase, Sensors, Gradle
Designed and developed an exergame that gives real-life basketball experience on the mobile phone and allow users to compete with their
friends. Rotation vector and linear acceleration sensors are used for detecting dribble and shoot motion performed by users.
Prediction and Routing Hadoop, R, Python, Weka, AWS
Built a Naïve Bayes classifier to predict flight delays based on historical data. Used this model to find all possible two-flight routes for future
flight connections. Produced best possible connection based on total flight duration for each incoming request.
Search Engine Java, Jsoup
Implemented a web crawler and indexed the CACM corpus. Used PageRank and BM25 ranking algorithm for document scoring. Evaluated
how well the search engine did at finding pertinent documents in response to queries using precision, recall and NDCG.
Scraggle Android, Firebase, GCM, Accelerometer Sensor, Gradle
Created a word game that has a unique twist to Boggle and Scrabble. Implemented single-player and multi-player modes for players to play
collaboratively and form words inside a grid. Used accelerometer sensor to enhance gameplay.
Teaching Assistant Matching System Spring MVC, LDAP, Maven http://tas.ccs.neu.edu
Designed and developed a system that allow Professors at Northeastern University to find eligible Teaching Assistants for their courses.
Implemented information and decision-making algorithm to facilitate matching using Maximum Bipartite Matcher.
CARNET AngularJS, Express.js, MongoDB, OAuth http://net4.ccs.neu.edu/home/adib/project
Designed a carpooling website that connects people with similar commute routes to be able to share rides. Facilitated people to rate and
favor drivers to enable safer and better riding experience. Project code used for demonstration to new users of Carma API.
Knowledge Intensive Database System for Healthcare [Research] PL/SQL, Oracle Data Miner
Simulated Observe Orient Decide Act (OODA) loop for knowledge model on MIMIC II dataset in collaboration with Oracle Corporation.
Presented a technical paper on KIDS in Healthcare Scenario.
