Awesome Adventure Workshop!
Kids create their own story of
adventure and intrigue, with
action-filled plots, dialogue and
a heroic main character.
Storybook Workshop
Kids become real authors in an upbeat workshop!
v The workshop engages kids through
brainstorming that turns into their own
creative stories
v We alternate between writing and creating
colorful illustrations, including cover art
v At the end of the workshop, participants will
have their own masterpiece to take home!
v Workshops can be theme-specific and the
complexity is always tailored to the age.
v Up to 15 participants per workshop
(add $50 for up to 25 participants)
Kids write their own tale through the
eyes of a favorite pet or animal! It’s a
fun way to learn about perspective
through storytelling. Instructions for
drawing dogs, cats & rabbits.
Woof! Meow! A Pet’s Perspective
Kids are guided through writing
their very own autobiography,
including family, friends, favorite
music, hobbies & more. Everyone
creates their own self-portrait too.
Selfie! Autobiography Workshop
Kids become modern-day poets! We
brainstorm ideas, characters, play
with rhyme and participants create
an original collection of 3-5 poems
with illustrations and cover art.
NEW! Poetry Workshop
Host a fun in-person OR virtual SKYPE workshop! Kids
become real authors in each one and leave the workshop
with their own illustrated masterpiece! We use energetic
brainstorming to create plot and characters then create
illustrations and cover art. Kids are guided through it all.
Grades 1-4. Up to 15 kids. (Add $50 for up to 25 kids).

Achoo!Pugbug Eco-Visit
The Author Visit
Kids hear the sweet
tale of Leni lovebird as
she takes a journey
through the forest
looking for love. It’s
followed by a fun talk
about the different
animal characters, their
messages and journeys.
A lively interactive experience for kids!
Kids get an interactive
reading of Pugbug & The
Ticklish Garden AND a
fun presentation of plant
and insect life cycles.
Everyone gets a Pugbug
bookmark to color.
Kids meet Mayor Munkin
in a lively reading of
Achoo!, followed by an
interactive discussion
of the book’s themes of
leadership, accepting
helping and health.
Kids may laugh out loud
when they hear these
readings from The
Crumbles Chronicles, a
humor book narrated by a
nervous rescue pup.
Presentation includes pet
ownership, role of rescue
shelters and Q & A.

INFORMATION & PLANNING
PLANNING YOUR VISIT
Planning your visit is easy. Simply use the
contact info below to get started. Workshops
are typically scheduled 1-3 months in advance.
School visits can be planned up to12 months in
advance. Skype visits can be planned easily and
only require a test of equipment and connection.
All fees listed include materials, except for
Skype visits. Transportation fees apply for out-
of-town travel. Thank you for your interest!

FUNDRAISING
Turn your visit into a fundraiser! Your PTA or
sponsoring organization can earn 20% back on
book purchases made through the event. The
same applies for book fairs. What a wonderful
way to inspire creative literacy and also give
back to your school, library or homeschooling
organization. For Crumbles Chronicles visits,
part of the proceeds already goes to rescue
shelters so that fundraiser helps in two ways.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
LAURA SCOTT SCHAEFER
Laura has written extensively since graduating
from college with an English Degree in 1993.
She has published three picture books and the
chapter book series, The Crumbles Chronicles,
narrated by her rescue dog. Laura has received
excellent reviews of her books and storybook
workshops, which she teaches regularly at
libraries and elementary schools. Laura and her
family live in Westchester, NY.
