2. FADE IN
EXT. ATLANTA STREET - NIGHT
Establishing shot of a calm inner city neighborhood at night.
The street sign says “Moreland Ave”.
FADE TO:
EXT. ATLANTA STREETS - CONTINUOUS
The street is lined with different homes of varying style -
all are in complete disarray. This is not a high income area.
A few people wander up and down the streets. A low bass
rhythm can be heard from a passing car.
CUT TO:
EXT. CRAFTSMAN HOME - NIGHT
POP. POP.
Shots are heard from the inside of the craftsman home. The
windows illuminate with each pop.
Silence.
Suddenly, two young women (TONYA and CARLA, 20s) burst out of
the doorway and haul ass across the street.
Soon after, an older man with a handgun pursues.
CUT TO:
EXT. ATLANTA STREET - NIGHT
The two women run across the street.
Tonya trips, but Carla pulls her up.
CARLA
C’mon. You got this.
They hop a fence.

EXT. ATLANTA STREET - NIGHT
They land in the next yard.
A DOG barks as it runs toward them. The chain stops the dog
just short of the girls.
Carla and Tonya cautiously inch their way to the front door.
The open it, letting themselves out.
The two hide behind an abandoned gas station and stop to
breathe.
Carla scans the area. All clear.
CARLA
Stay low.
INT. ABANDONED GAS STATION - NIGHT
As the women enter the building, they see pillows and
mattresses set up for previous tenants.
The room is empty.
TONYA
We can’t stay here.
CARLA
Shut up.
TONYA
We can’t. He’s been here with us.
Tonya turns to Carla, palm outstretched.
TONYA (CONT'D)
Give it to me.
CARLA
What? No, fuck that!
TONYA
There’s no time. Give me the bag.
Frustrated, Carla takes a sandwich bag of pills out of her
backpack, pockets them, and tosses the backpack to her
sister.
Tonya puts the bad in her pocket.

EXT. GAS STATION - CONTINUOUS
Tonya and Carla exit, prepared to split ways.
Suddenly, the Man jumps out from behind a bump.
Seeing them, he lets out an emphatic yell. Now that we see
him up close, it is obvious that he is strung out and angry.
TONYA
Are you fucking kidding me?
The Man aims his weapon, but the women throw dirt in his face
and run in opposite directions.
Thrown, the man wipes the dirt out of his eyes. When he is
able to see, he decides to pursue Tonya and the backpack.
Tonya is much faster than him and leaves the man in the dust.
He heaves as he attempts to keep up, his face turning red
with exertion.
EXT. ATLANTA STREET - NIGHT
Carla looks behind her as she tears down the street, picking
up her pace. She is alone.
Turning the corner, she beeps her keys to unlock her car.
INT. CARLA’S CAR - NIGHT
As Carla gets into the busted up Dodge Charger, she gets a
call.
Putting it on speaker, she shifts the car into gear.
TONYA (O.S.)
Where are you?
CARLA
I’m coming. Hold tight.
TONYA
Hurry. I don’t know where that dude
went.
(beat)
Oh shit.
A loud bang. The line goes dead.
Carla tries to call back but it goes straight to voicemail.

5. 4.
She uses the Find My Friends app to locate her sister and
drives off down the road.
She puts the bag of pills in the glove box.
INT. CARLA'S CAR - NIGHT
As she gets within 500 feet of the location, she sees the Man
standing over Tonya, gun drawn.
Carla sees red. Blood pumping, she lays her foot on the
accelerator.
Before he realizes what’s happening, Carla’s car strikes him
full speed. They crash into the alley wall.
Silence.
EXT. CARLA'S CAR
Carla crawls out of her crumpled car, dabbing at a gash on
her forehead. Her leg is also clearly injured.
The Man is sandwiched between her car and the wall, dead.
Carla spits at him.
CARLA
Motherfucker.
Turning around, she sees Tonya running toward her.
When she reaches Carla, she helps her stand.
TONYA
Oh my God, are you okay?
Looking at the car.
TONYA (CONT'D)
What the hell were you thinking!
CARLA
(laughing)
I was thinking about you.
TONYA
That was so reckless.
She helps Carla sit down on the edge of the curb, and starts
looking through the car. She finds a screwdriver and uses it
to take off the license plate.

6. 5.
CARLA
Check the trunk.
Tonya opens the trunk and pulls out a gasoline canister. She
gives Carla a look.
TONYA
You need to stop being so dramatic.
CARLA
Just do it. My prints are
everywhere.
TONYA
Ughh fine.
There is a little bit of fuel left in it. She pours it on the
man and the car.
She ignites her zippo and drops it on the car. It erupts into
flames.
TONYA (CONT'D)
Happy?
Carla nods.
The two sisters sit, mesmerized by the glow of the pyre. The
street is silent, aside from the crackling of the flames.
Carla looks over at Tonya.
CARLA
For a moment, I really thought I
was going to lose you.
(beat)
The way he was standing over you. I
don’t know what I would have done
if -
TONYA
I had it covered.
CARLA
You didn’t. We need to be more
careful.
TONYA
Okay, Mom. Whatever you say.
(Re: Carla’s look)
What you thinking?
5.
7. 6.
CARLA
We lay low for a week. Post up
here. Let Bobby and Carlos handle
the traffic. Maybe bring on Teddy.
TONYA
Teddy’s an idiot.
CARLA
Then we bring in Luis.
TONYA
He’s sus. He stole $500 worth of
product!
CARLA
Damn it.
(beat)
We’ll figure it out. Let’s get out
of here.
They flee the scene.
CUT TO BLACK.
