RE: Laura Dixon
Laura is a bright, intelligent and hard-working student with a very mature approach to her studies.
Laura’s conduct throughout her time at Wyke Sixth Form College has been exemplary.
In her first year at Wyke Laura enrolled on our BTEC First Diploma in IT. Through her consistent
hard work Laura achieved an outstanding Distinction*. Laura progressed to A-Level study and will
leave this year with A-Levels in ICT, English and Sociology. Laura’s record in all these subjects has
been exemplary.
In Applied ICT, Laura developed an understanding of how IT is applied in business along with
product development and project management skills, and a range of advanced IT application and
creative skills including Office applications, interactive multimedia production (Flash) and website
design and development (Dreamweaver).
Laura repeatedly proved she was capable of using her own initiative and working independently and
also as a member of a team, forming positive working relationships with her peers and her teachers.
Laura’s commitment extended beyond the classroom, she was always willing to put in the extra
effort required to ensure her work always met the required standard and was always completed on-
time. In recognition of her consistent outstanding commitment to her studies, Laura received the
Wyke IT Student of the Year Award 2010-11.
Throughout her time at Wyke, along with her academic achievements, it was evident Laura was also
developing the personal and professional qualities required to succeed in life. I cannot speak highly
enough about Laura, she has been the perfect student at Wyke and always a pleasure to work with.
I have no doubt Laura will succeed in all she does in the future. I therefore have no hesitation
whatsoever in recommending Laura to you, I am sure she will be an asset to your organisation.
