Ladies and Gentlemen:
Thank you, for taking the time to review this letter and my attached resume. My
name is Lance Anthony Bankston. I am currently seeking an accounting position.
I am a recent accounting graduate from Southeastern Louisiana University. I
graduated Summa Cum Laude, with a 4.0 in accounting. I was elected to serve as
Vice President of our chapter of Beta Alpha Psi. I also served as the Vice President of
the Society of Human Resource Management. I believe my positions in these roles,
and my academic study has prepared me to be able to train and adapt to any
environment. I learned key communication skills while serving the roles. The
moment I am most proud of is helping secure internships for members of the
Society of Human Resource Management.
I believe in a positive out look in any situation. I always strive to encourage fellow
students and coworkers to achieve any task they were taking on. I also believe in
being industrious, and leading from the front with actions. I was one of the highest
hours of tutoring earners in Beta Alpha Psi. Another moment of leadership and
service I was proud of was when a teacher asked me to take notes for a student with
disabilities. I showed up early for class every day to discuss any changes that needed
to be made to the notes for him to further understand, changed my writing style to
print to make it easier to read my notes. I was proud that my help allowed this
student to complete the class. I believe this shows the amount of effort I will be able
to put in for a client to make sure that their needs are always taken care of.
My last position before moving to Georgia, I was a student worker for the East Baton
Rouge City Parish Accounts Payable division. My typical day as a student worker
would encompass scanning in over 2,000 images. I would also audit and input
invoices. Another task assigned to me was petty cash journal entries, and revenue
and expense journal entries for the end of the month. While I was assigned petty
cash journal entries I was able to streamline the process through excel to make the
task easier for the next student workers to complete. I was also trusted to learn and
be able to handle any full time employees work if they were to have to miss a day. I
quickly adapted to being able to input any voucher as needed. Lastly, before leaving
I was asked to train the new student worker.
Thank you, again for taking the time to read this letter, and review my resume. I
look forward to hearing from you soon. If you have any questions please call me at
225-270-1624.
Sincerely,
