Do you know where west Cobb
is?
It’s hard to define the area, yet it
is filled with hundreds of businesses
waiting to serve customers from across
metro-Atlanta.And now it has a vibrant
business association to help do that.
The West Cobb Business
Association (WCBA) was established
to fill a need in unincorporated West
Cobb. With the community as the
center of its focus, members build
partnerships with schools, churches,
residents, and businesses throughout
their area of influence.
“West Cobb is a distinct
community with its own recreational
sports, businesses, schools, parks,
churches and shopping centers,” said
WCBA president Krystine Torella. “It is unique in that it spans several different cities
including Acworth, Dallas, Hiram, Kennesaw, Marietta, and Powder Springs.”
Torella said west Cobb is usually defined as the area west of Barrett Parkway and north
and slightly south of Dallas Highway. The WCBA currently has over 150 active members
in that area and is among the fastest-growing of the 10 business associations located in
Cobb County.
The association encourages the involvement of its members on various committees
and holds 15 networking events each month, such as luncheons, breakfasts and after-hours
programs, said Torella. An annual membership is $75.
“As members of the WCBA, we know that, if we invest in our community, our
community will invest in our businesses,” said Torella, a local realtor in west Cobb.
“Our slogan is, ‘Where Business and Relationships Converge,’ and we are offering
exciting new opportunities to facilitate these relationships.”
