Question: Explain what you do.
Answer: I compile financial reports from local
businesses to help detail their creditworthiness for our
commercial lenders. This helps our bank to determine if it’s in the best interests of the customer and bank
to make a new loan.
Q: How did you get into the business?
A: My grandpa owned a bank, and my father runs a ranch. Over time, I figured I loved working with
numbers and helping people the most.
Q: What are the biggest challenges you or your industry face?
A: New banking regulations.
Q: What are the biggest rewards of your job?
A: Having a pile of numbers and condensing them down so that they can make sense to everyone.
Q: What advice do you have for someone else thinking about a career in your field?
A: Connect with professionals in banking; ask them all the dumb questions you can, and never stop trying
to learn.
Q: What did you want to be when you grew up?
A: My mom tells me “a chef on the moon.”
Q: What kept you from pursuing that vision?
A: The logistics of trying to cook on the moon were too daunting.
Q: Where do you see yourself careerwise in 10 years?
A: I see myself working in banking and helping small businesses thrive.

Q: Outside of work, what’s your favorite thing to do and your favorite place to do it?
A: I like to get out of the house on the weekends. I enjoy going to CSU football games, hiking, fishing,
hunting and traveling.
Q: What role does volunteerism/giving back play in your work or personal life?
A: The Northern Colorado community is great at providing opportunities to help those in need — be it a
wildfire, flood, feeding the hungry, etc. Being part of Adams Bank & Trust gives me an avenue to give back
to a very caring community.
Q: What role does social media play in your business and how do you utilize it?
A: Social media has allowed our bank to show the public what kind of people we are and how we like to do
business.
As our President Chad Adams states, our customer’s bottom line is more important than our own, and all of
our employees stick by that motto.
The word “bank” has built a bad connotation over recent years, and we are trying to buck that trend.
Q: Where is your favorite spot in Loveland and why?
A: Fourth Street. I love all the new additions being added to that area. Great food, beer, coffee and shops.
Q: What do you do in your leisure time?
A: I love going to festivals during the summer; there is always one going on in the summer. If not, brewery
hopping with my wife and friends on the weekends. We are so fortunate to live in Northern Colorado with
great brewers; there are unique new beers to try everyday.
Q: If you could interview one person in the world who would that be?
A: The late, great Zig Ziglar (a motivational speaker and author).
