This document summarizes a project to improve the process of tracking concrete deliveries and quantities at a construction site. Currently, concrete suppliers provide delivery tickets on site that are then collected, recorded, and confirmed by various departments, which leads to delays, errors, and wasted time. The project aims to reduce the time to confirm tickets from 9 days to 1 day by creating an online database accessible to all departments for real-time data entry and reporting of concrete quantities. A web application will be developed and staff trained on its use to streamline the process and eliminate issues like lost tickets, duplicate entries, late reporting, and incorrect data.
2. Business Case
Structure department at BEGP Route 6 Project is ordering the concrete from supplier in daily basis by sending the
report of concrete order for the following working day.
Supplier provides the concrete delivery ticket on site to the related department.
Related department accept and sing the ticket that shall send it to the office engineer. Structure office engineer
keep the record and request the approval of delivery concrete tickets from other departments.
Problem Statement
In the monthly basis Structure department prepare the list of the quantity of poured concrete and send it out to
the related departments for confirmation of the tickets. 80% of delivery tickets are being accepted late by the
departments in the daily basis and some of them are being lost. COPQ of controlling and correcting this ticket in
the end of the months is taking app. 9 days.
3. Project target is to reduce the waiting time from 9 to 1 day
Lead Time = 9 Days
Process Time = 681 min = 1.2 Days
GAP = 9 days - 1.2 days = 7.8 days
11 hrs x 60 = 660 mins
660 mins - 60 mins - 30 mins = 570 mins (Available Time)
Available Time on 1 Working day
Working Time : 11 hrs
Lunch Break : 60 mins
TPM Breaks : 30 mins
