- Spring 2022 SFMC release will take place from February 5-18 with future releases occurring in June and October.
- Email Studio Classic Web Tools will start retiring in June 2022 and be replaced by Content Builder.
- New features include enabling Android deep linking, adding mobile app behavioral data to journeys, and optimization of send times using AI.
- File transfer options are expanding with authorization changes to Amazon S3 and additional metrics in Datorama Reports.
2. RELEASE SCHEDULE
Releases will take place 3 times a year now:
- Spring (February)
- Summer (June)
- Winter (October)
This change aligns with other Salesforce
products.
4. Email Studio Classic Web Tools Are Retiring
● As stated in previous release notes, Email Studio Class Web Tools will start to gradually
retire in future releases.
● This includes landing pages and microsites.
● Currently, you can still view and edit any existing landing pages and microsites in the
classic Web Tools.
● Full retirement is slotted for JUNE 2022
5. CloudPages: Classic Editor Migrated to Content Builder
● All CloudPages will now use Content Builder.
● CloudPages that previously used the Classic Editor will be migrated to Content Builder.
● All newly created CloudPages will use Content Builder.
6. CloudPages: Other Enhancements
● Code Resources will now be created with Content Builder,
including a properties page for viewing Page Details and
unpublishing
● On the properties page, Advanced Settings and
Unpublishing will move to a gear menu next to Page Details
● When a page is published, the URL becomes immediately
clickable
● CloudPages will remember your view and sorting
preferences
● Microsites now have an Unpublish button
7. Multi-Factor Authentication Opt-In Enabled for All
● Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is now automatically enabled for all
applicable Marketing Cloud tenants
● Users can no longer skip this verification method and will be contractually
required to use MFA when accessing Marketing Cloud
● Any user account that has already enabled MFA for direct or SSO logins,
you will not see any changes to the login experience
8. Update Deployed Items with Package Manager
● You can now updated existing Package Manager items with latest
program versions
● For each item, you can keep the existing version, update to the new
version or keep both items by renaming
the new version
○ Note* - These update actions apply
to all items except DEs during this
release, DE update support will be
coming in a future release
9. Generate JavaScript Web Tokens with AMPscript
● Two new AMPscript functions have been created to allow users to generate
Javascript Web Tokens (JWTs) in content resolved by the Outbound Mail
Manager (OMM) rendering engine:
GetJWT
GetJWTByKeyName
● You can use these to
authenticate and securely
exchange your information
● These AMPscript functions
are available for messages
and landing pages
10. Enable Android Deep Linking in Setup
● You can now support Android's 12's new App Link Verification
○ Under Setup > Email Studio > Deep Linking Applications - customers will
have the ability to host the asset link file on
Marketing Cloud click domain
servers
● With this, Android 12 subscribers will
deep link directly into their mobile
application as opposed to the mobile
web page
11. MobilePush SDK Name Change
● MobilePush SDK is renamed to Engagement SDK
● The new name comes from the merging of the MobilePush SDK and the CDP SDK into
one streamlined SDK
