Hasilpur is an important city and Tehsil Headquarter of District Bahawalpur
situated on Bahawalpur-Bahawalnagar Road at about 100 Km Eastern side of
District Headquarter. It is connected with road links as well as Railway line to
Chistian and Bahawalnagar in East and Khairpur Tamewali and Bahawalpur
in West. District Vehari is situated in its North. All types of public transport
playing from Hasilpur to and from all parts of the country. The city has been
divided by the Railway Line as “Old Hasilpur” situated in the North side of the
Railway Line while “Hasilpur Mandi” in the South.

Hasilpur is situated in “Cotton Belt”. The major crop of the area
is “White Gold” the “Cotton”, Wheat, Sugar Cane and Oil
seeds. It is a big center of Cotton and Oil Seeds. A large Numbers
of Ginning Factories are established in the area and Cotton of
good quality is supplied to the spinning mills all over the country.
The majority of population has migrated from surrounding rural
areas. Shop-keeping and locally supported commerce is the main
business and source of earning for the local residents.

6. GENERAL CLEANLINESS
Unit, Hasilpur consists 34 No. wards. In-spite of limited sources, Unit, Hasilpur has
taken certain steps to improve the sanitary condition of the city, detailed as under:-
i) Daily Cleanliness
The main bazaars, streets and Muhallas of the city are swept/cleaned on daily basis.
ii) Proper Management of Available Staff
Unti, Hasilpur has strength of (106) persons in Sanitation wing. In order to get the batter
results, they have been deputed ward wise in Unit area.
iii) Cleanliness of Drain & Streets
Special squads have been deputed to clean the drains on daily basis & to collect the
solid waste on daily basis.

7. SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT
08 to 10 No. trolleys of solid waste are collected on daily basis
and dumped in the Sanitary Land Fill Site. It is further added that
a sufficient staff has already been deputed to collect the solid
waste from the narrow street through hand carts and trolley
rikshaws.

9. SEWERAGE SYSTEM
The sewerage system of the city is being maintained
properly. (03) teams are permanently deputed to look
after the system. The practice of de-silting of sewerage
system/drains (115 K.M) is specially has been done
regularly through available Sucker, Jetting Machines &
wincher machines.

There are 07 Nos. Disposal stations functioning
in Municipal area of Hasilpur. These disposal
stations are functional and being maintained
properly. (08) hourly based shift wise duties are
performed by Unit , Hasilpur Staff.

30. EFFICIENT USE OF MANPOWER/MACHINERY
The available manpower is being used in a proper way. In
order to get the batter results, sanitation staff has been deputed
ward wise in Unit Hasilpur area. Unit Hasilpur has adequate
machinery Tractors, trolleys & sludge pump. Sucker Machine
and Jetting Machine is also available at Unit , Hasilpur to open
the chocked sewer lines. With the help of this machinery, the
cleanliness status of the city has become better than earlier.

31. WATER SUPPLY
The Clean drinking water has a vital role in human life. Unit, Hasilpur
provides and maintain the potable water to the residents of the city. 14 No.
Tube wells installed on the bank of Bahawal Canal near about 08 K.M away
from the city in sweet zone. 08 No. (Ground Storage Tanks) were installed in
the different locations of the city under this schemes where the water is
pumped into the ground storage tanks. The water is supplied to the city by
re-pumping from these tanks.

Both the filtration plants are being maintained properly by the
Unit. The filtration media is changed after 03 Months for its best
performance.

34. ENCROACHMENTS OF BAZAARS
The temporary and permanent encroachments in
bazaars are dealt with strictly. Special squad has already
been deputed to remove the encroachment on daily
basis. In main bazaar, Chowk old Sabzi Mandi &
Railway Bazaar, 3’ wide strip on both side the road
occupied by the encroachers is retrieved.

35. PUBLIC PARKS

A public park namely “Allama Iqbal” Park measuring 05 Acres of Land
is situated in the heart of the city which is very beautiful and well kept
park for the recreation of the residents of Hasilpur city.
MC staff comprising on Baildars and Chowkidars have been deputed to
maintain and look after the above said park.
Sanitary Workers have also been deputed for cleanliness of park and its
surroundings.
38. SLAUGHTER HOUSE

Unit, Hasilpur is maintaining a slaughter house where
animals for meat and beef are slaughtered under the
supervision of Veterinary Doctor. The better facilities
have been provided to improve the sanitation condition
in the slaughter house. The remains of animals are
collected and disposed off on daily basis and the
slaughter house is washed with clean water.
