RE: Reference Letter for Kelly McMillan
I am writing to introduce you to Kelly McMillan as his former manager at HO-AD/Wood
Group PSN.
I hired Kelly initially as a Production Manager to help solve some issues with our
production in our Longmont, Colorado operations where we were a specialty fabricator
specifically for the oil and gas market, primarily focused on flow measurement skids and
pressure vessels.
Kelly was able to step in and help productivity improve and manage indirect costs in
short order. He was good at looking both at the larger picture of satisfying our clients
requested delivery dates, while scheduling the resources, and keeping an eye on our
indirect costs and managing to a budget.
Subsequent to that, Kelly was moved into a Sr. Project Manager position as we had a
need to pro-actively manage a large customer in our business that did not feel we had the
strength in our PM area that we needed.
In this position, Kelly brought his production experience along with his unwavering
belief that the truth is always best to bear, and was successful at managing their projects
and keeping the client updated and informed. As with any fabrication operation, there are
issues that arise that put the project budget and delivery time frame at risk. Kelly was
never afraid to be pro-active at informing our clients when these situations would arise,
and consequently was able to influence the shop to the best possible outcome, while also
managing customer expectations and accounting for changes in scope, budget and
delivery.
Kelly’s straightforward, honest, “Can-do” approach was refreshing to me, and the clients
that he worked with, and would be an asset for any organization. If I were currently in a
position to need operations or project management support, I would not hesitate to hire
Kelly in any organization I worked in.
Respectfully,
Kevin Craft
