Maintain Relationships
1. MINUTES: MARKETING ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Referendum- 4:10 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.
1. Referendum passed of building renovations, which will include the marketing program
classes on each side of the building, and will still remain in the B & IT building
2. The updates will be including glass fixtures and spacious lab areas
3. Having the clusters of the program not be as broad; the clusters include: Digital media,
digital media, and professional business
Accreditation- 4:15 p.m. - 4:23 p.m.
1. Northeast Wisconsin Technical Collegeis working on being an accredited business
school
a. The application is in progress
2. Being an accredited business school creates more opportunities for credit transfers and
gives credits for the program wants and needs
3. Some credentials that are being presented are
a. Demonstrating and managing credentials
b. How program work is assessed
c. The programs workload
4. There is an 18 month deadline for the application process. April 15, 2016 is the expected
day that the application will be processed and become accredited
5. Trial run for the application is going smoothly and is on the right track to becoming
accredited. There are onsite interviews as well during the process
Internationalization of Curriculum- 4:23 p.m. - 4:27 p.m.
1. Students needs to be aware of global current events, but having an internationalized
curriculum is not a top priority
2. 2. The program curriculum is not focused on global issues and the students normally do
not insist on global courses, mostly because of the job market.
3. A global class was discussed; If anything, there would be a global marketing class
presented as accelerated electiveclass
4. Research of international needs and cultural differences are established in the curriculum
for certain projects
5. There will be research for the opportunity for a global class, if it is persisted
Change in Curriculum- 4:27p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
1. Digital Media curriculum changes are putting more emphasis on:
a. Market Development
b. Professional Sales
c. Digital Marketing
Current Happenings- 4:30 p.m. – 4:38 p.m.
1. Have meetings with new students to check on progress and help will be a top priority
a. Help with class schedule options
b. Provide informative advice
c. Have more students stay involved with school
2. Persistence level increase
a. The program has a goal of a 5% persistence increase enrolled students
Industry Trend Sharing- 4:38 p.m. – 4:43 p.m.
1. Having students use projects in interviews
a. Increase confidence
b. Allow the students work to be unique
2. Using group work as a tool for students
a. For projects, students may have the choice to work individually or as
groups to adapt to collaboration, and soft skills
3. Looking at the needs of clients:
a. Content used and how to improve it
b. Use of web and web exposure

a. How results are analyzed
b. Can help with business procedures
Personal Branding Class- 4:43 p.m. - 5:05 p.m.
1. Personal branding helps make connections with oneself and others
2. Personal branding can have reflections on:
a. Competency

3. Allows for students to be self-aware and be thoughtful of what is being
accomplished and who they are
4. Active listening skills are critical and will be presented

a. Being confident in learning the qualities of the program
b. Creating a system that can help build the students brand

1. Improve writing development for students; in talks about having an English co-requisite
a. Having coinciding teaching

4. By hosting an event at NWTC, I was
granted the opportunity to take
minutes for the Marketing Team. I
was able to make new contacts and
was able to learn new installments
for their program. I gained more
contacts that have not vanished
from my school career.
