Garey High School: Peer Counselor
(Spring 2016)
Counseled 9 students through one-on-one sessions for 5 hours on Fridays for
a clinical fieldwork course during the spring. Students were referred to peer
counseling due to conduct, academic performance, or mental health issues.
Breakthrough Houston: Teaching Fellow
(Summer 2015)
Taught Geometry to two classes of rising ninth graders, each with about 12
students. Also co-taught one Psychology class to rising 7th - 9th graders
with another Teaching Fellow. Created a safe and fun learning environment
through cheers and relationship-building.
Seaver Theatre: Administrative
(Fall 2012 - Spring 2016)
Posted flyers around campus, organized and inventoried a storage location,
greeted guests at events and managed a sales booth.
Senior Thesis

Conducted and implemented an experimental psychology thesis, through
survey materials, data collection and analysis. Focused on evaluating intrinsic
motivation among different generations of Latino students.
Chicano Studies Department: Student Representative

Coordinated student participation for the process of hiring a professor for the
Psychology and Chicano Studies department. Engaged in interviews and
conversations ultimately giving input and reviewing potential candidates.
Autism Center at Claremont Mckenna College: Undergraduate Assistant
(Fall 2015)
Provided behavioral therapy for children between the ages of 5-10 with
Autism for four hours a week through a course offered at Claremont
McKenna College. Worked with children on developing their social skills
through creating lesson plans three times throughout the semester along with
working individually with them during activities.
Cultural Neuroscience Lab: Undergraduate Research Assistant
(Spring 2015)
Performed and analyzed EEG readings on participants in order to study the
interaction between culture and neurological mechanisms. Focused on group
collaboration, analytical skills, and proper researcher-participant interaction.
CARE Lab: Undergraduate Research Assistant
(Spring 2014 - Fall 2015)
Assisted in various research projects. Transcribed sessions, coded facial
expressions of children, and interviewed participants for research projects.
Upward Bound: Tutor
(Spring 2014 - Fall 2015)
Tutored high school students across various subjects on Saturdays. Engaged
and motivated them to continue pursue higher education. Introduced and
reinforced study skills, in order to help them gain an understanding on how to
become prepared for the future.
