Kindergarten Associate Teacher (August 2014-May 2016)
A two-year position where I taught with a master
teacher in two different classrooms to gain more
experience as a teacher.

Kindergarten Admission Testing (January 2015/2016)
An assessor in a team approach to test incoming
kindergarteners on various skill levels: gross-motor,
fine- motor, social/emotional skills.

Twice a week taught literacy enrichment lessons
to four different first grade classes.
Crazy 8s Bedtime Math Club- K/1st;1st/2nd (Fall 2014/Fall

Tutored one student for 30 minutes each week on
sight words, phonemic awareness, reading,
sentence structure, writing, letter formation.
Building Bridges Leader (September 2014/2015)
A two hour event for FWCD Kindergarten parents.
Facilitated a group of parents with a variety of
team building activities.
Duke TIP Academic Adventures Program (April
2015-November 2015)
A program designed for fifth and sixth graders from
around the region who qualified from ERB test
scores.
Teachers design and execute a dream
mini-course.
Students created a film ad (Public Service
Announcement) in iMovie using three rhetorical
appeals (logical, emotional, ethical) and the tools
of rhetoric.
Duke TIP Academic Adventures Program (April 2016)
Using Destination Imagination(DI) students
designed a musical instrument and created a skit
for the final product.
Students learned how to work cooperatively and
creatively, in small groups of five and whole group
of ten, to accomplish Instant Challenges and Main
Challenges.
Teachers were facilitators and guided questions.
Students were encouraged to think authentically
and “outside of the box.”
Busy Hands & Jumping Feet (July 2015)
Co-taught 2-week summer camp for ages 3-5
years on fine and gross motor skills.
Downs Way Primary- Oxted, England (Fall 2013-Winter 2013)
Year 1/Year 2 Multi-age Classroom (ages 5-7)
Created literacy, math, and extracurricular lessons and units.
Designed a case study on two separate children, one with a learning difference and the other labeled as
academically gifted.
Halfway through the semester, took over the class as the full-time teacher.

Apple Creek Elementary- Third Grade Classroom (Spring 2013)
Created and taught a math unit of five lessons. Incorporated the SmartBoard, Everyday Mathematics
Journals, hands-on activities and manipulatives.
Montessori Classroom- Pre-Kindergarten ages 3-5 years (Fall 2013)
Created and taught a whole group lesson using the Montessori teaching philosophy.
Taught many one-on-one lessons with students that focused on literacy and math.

Wayne Elementary- Kindergarten (Spring 2012)
Taught four small reading groups at various reading levels. Provided differentiated instruction and addressed
various learning styles.
Parkview Elementary- First Grade (Spring 2011)
Worked with one student on improving reading comprehension and fluency, spelling words, and writing.
Gave a series of pre-assessments and post-assessments.
St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic School- Fifth Grade Classroom (Fall 2011)
Created a Language Arts Unit on Plot Structure and addressed auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learners in
each lesson.
Wayne Elementary- Second Grade Classroom (Fall 2010)
Created and taught a whole group lesson on Tale Tales. Used the SmartBoard to enhance the lesson.
Worked with small groups of 5-6 students to create Powerpoint presentations on different animals and their
habitats and basic needs.
Cornerstone Elementary School- Special Education Classroom (Spring 2010)
Observed the teacher, helped with activities, took the students out to recess, and sat with students at lunch.
The College of Wooster Nursery School (Fall 2009)
Helped preschoolers with activities, monitored behavior and acted as another classroom supervisor.

Art in the Preschool Classroom; Rebecca James, (September 1, 2015)
Preschool and Pre-K teachers from Dallas/ Fort Worth area attended a two-hour Continuing Education
Program offered through the FWCD Admission Office.
Explored crayon resists, finger knitting, and scented painting etc.

2014 Beginning Teacher Institute; Fort Worth, TX (September 17-19, 2014)
A 3-day training for new teachers to learn about the various topics including, classroom management,
parent communication, technology, balancing work/life balance, active learning, lesson planning etc.
Led by three professionals from the Institute of Educational Initiatives at the University of Notre Dame: Kevin
Burke, Brian Collier, and Maria McKenna.
Teacher Induction Program (FWCD); Fort Worth, TX (August 2014- present)
A two year program taught by two Fort Worth Country Day teachers, Chuck Maddux and Michael Parker for
a group of 2014 hires. Over the course of two years meet once a month to discuss the various topics
including parent conferences, classroom management, admissions, lesson cycle/technology, observations,
differentiation.
