8. There are a few different ways to set up your tracking.
You may set up Tracking Variables in Boost Settings, use
Custom Variables in Boost Settings or include your tracking in the
Destination URL when uploading your content under the Manage
Content tab. To avoid discrepancies, we recommend you set up
tracking using only ONE of the above methods.
To set up Tracking Variables or use Custom Variables, select the
gear icon to the right of Tracking in Boost Settings.
9. One method to setting up
tracking can be found in
the following example:
Source: revcontent (This
can be something to
easily identify the source
of clicks. The source
needs to be the same
across ALL your boosts to
passback correctly)
Medium: <adv_targets>
(This allows you to see
which target channels the
clicks came from.)
Term: <widget_id> (This
will passback widget id
performance.)
Content: <content_id>
(This allows you to see
clicks by each piece of
content within your
campaign boost.)
Name: This can be your
campaign boost’s name
or something to easily
identify the specific boost
in your tracking.
Be sure to select ‘Build Tracking
Code’ at the bottom of the window
to save your tracking.
10. If you would like to use your
own Custom Variables, you
may add them at the bottom
of the Tracking setup window
in Boost Settings.
Be sure to select ‘Build
Tracking Code’ to save your
tracking.
11. Once you’ve completed your
Boost Settings, you will be
taken to the Manage Content
tab to upload the content that
will run in your Campaign
Boost.
Select Add Existing to add
content from your previous
campaign boosts to your new
campaign boost.
Select Add New and enter
your Destination URL to
upload new content to your
campaign boost.
12. When creating a new piece of
content, be sure to capitalize the
first letter of each word.
You can set up headline
variables by entering
{City}, {State}, and/or
{Zip} into your headline.
To view all accepted
variable replacements
simply hover over
</>Variables.
Note tracking was added to the
Destination URL. In this case, we do not
recommend adding tracking to Boost
Settings as well.
Tracking should be in Boost Settings or in
the Destination URL, not both.
Choose the appropriate content
type your Destination URL leads
to: Article, Video or Mobile App.
Preview your new content in
real time as you upload the
image and headline.
