The document discusses different types of drop shots in badminton, including slow drop shots, fast drop shots, forehand drop shots, backhand drop shots, around the head drop shots, and forehand around the head drop shots. A slow drop shot is intended to land close to the net to move the opponent forward, while a fast drop shot lands in the midcourt. Forehand and backhand drop shots are hit with a downward curved trajectory to the front of the opponent's court. Around the head and forehand around the head drop shots allow hitting a forehand shot from the non-racket side or rear court.

2. Slow Drop Shot
A slow drop shot would cause
the shuttle to land at your
opponent's frontcourt area, as
close to the net as possible. The
point of contact would be above
the racket shoulder. It is executed
with the intent of moving your
opponent to the frontcourt which
would hopefully allow you to take
advantage of their weak return.
4. Fast Drop Shot
For the Fast Drop Shot, the shuttle
will land somewhere on the
middle area of your opponents
side. It’s called the Fast Drop
because the shuttle travels down
faster to your opponents side, but
lands nearer to the mid
court. Ideally, the Fast Drop will
land on or after the service line.
6. Forehand Drop Shot
Slice across the shuttlecock with
the face of the racket slightly
open, or just before contact, slow
the speed of the racket down,
tapping the shuttle gently over the
net. Hit the shuttlecock at a flat
trajectory, allowing it to drop just
over the net.
8. Backhand Drop Shot
A backhand drop shot in
badminton is a shot performed
with your backhand and from the
back part of the court. It has a
downwards and curved trajectory
and it directed to the front of the
court of your opponent.
10. Around the Head Drop Shot
This is actually a forehand
overhead badminton drop shot
played at the non-racket side of
your body. Try to use it whenever
play permits as a forehand stroke
is always better and more accurate
than a backhand. The techniques
for hitting this shot are about the
same as the forehand overhead
stroke with only some minor
adjustments.
12. Forehand Around
the Head Drop Shot
The forehand round the head shot
is an effective way to negotiate a
clear on the backhand rear court
with a forehand. It allows you to
generate more power than a
backhand overhead clear.
