editing is done.
3. Discuss the purpose of a marketing campaign
Marketing campaigns promote products through different types of
media, such as television, radio, print, and online platforms, For IT 2
this is done in many ways, for example the film was promoted an
marketed in many different ways, a unusual one was through the
actors Instagram's, all the actors post a normal picture but in the
background there was a red balloon showing the presence of
pennywise, this is an effective way of marketing as it hypes up the
film in a mysterious way, cross platform promotion is very effective
as It gives the message across multiple platforms and interacts with
most ages, for example younger people through social media and
maybe older people through ads on television and on banners, as you
can see its very effective, cause of this and the hype it makes the
film viral and excites people for the release day. Marketing is really
what makes a film successful, IT 2s success is how well it has been
marketed. People would not know a film exists without marketing.
When a film goes into production, it needs to be advertised like any
other product and get audience excited to go see it.
4. Marketing of the Film
IT 2
Information about the film
Release Date: 6 September 2019 (United Kingdom)
Director: Andrès Muschietti
Box Office: $450.7 million
Budget: 79 million USD
ScreenPlay: Gary Dauberman
The marketing of the film consisted of 3 main things, The Balloon, Pennywise and the text IT 2. it was repeated through most of the advertisement
and was the main, The balloon in film is used to show that pennywise is close so in the advertisement they used a lot of the balloon as it is well
known, as we can see in the images down below its one of the main part of the advertisement, another part of the advertisement was Pennywise,
mainly his eyes it almost stares at the person looking and kind of interacts with the audience. The text and font is like a stretched engraved blood
text, its referring to the clown engraving it in, this could be used to inflict fear on the audience showing the text is by him and also is a good way of
showing how powerful the clown is. The colour scheme is the most important on how to have the film come across, in this case IT 2 uses a lot of red
and white, it can be taken in many different ways, the main one is red and white being the clowns make up, its what every clown wears, this shows
that the film is about the clown and its could also we taken as blood or evil, as that is what is associated with the colour red, this straight away give
the audience exceptions and shows them what the film is about. The narrative is a follow up of the first one, meaning you have the watch the first
to understand the second, the storyline is along the lines of seven young outcasts in Derry, Maine, are about to face their worst nightmare, an
ancient, shape-shifting evil that emerges from the sewer every 27 years to prey on the town's children. Banding together over the course of one
horrifying summer, the friends must overcome their own personal fears to battle the murderous, bloodthirsty clown known as Pennywise. It Chapter
Two has grossed $211.6 million in the United States and Canada, and $261.4 million in other territories, for a worldwide total of $473 million.
In the United States and Canada, the film was projected to gross $90–100 million from 4,570 theaters in its opening weekend, and the week of its
release broke Fandango's record for most advance tickets sold by a horror film. The film made $37.4 million in its first day, including $10.5 million
from Thursday night previews, the second-highest total for both a September opening and horror film, behind the first film's $13.5 million. It went
on to debut to $91 million, also the second-best ever for a horror film and a September release, while being over $30 million less than the first film.
The lower debut was attributed to a more mixed critical reception, as well as the nearly three-hour runtime, which exhibitors said curbed business.
5. Timeline of the Film
The film was released in 6th September 2019 and in the first week it make $91,062,152, and it cost about $80,000,000 to
make so in the first week it make $10,00,000 profit, and that was only in the USA, it was on 18th July, 2019that it was
announced although it was already know that a second one was being made, then later premiered in Los Angeles on August 26,
2019, this gave it enough time to go viral and get the message around. It gave it around 2 month for a good amount of
promotion and already lured in the people and fans who enjoyed the first one. The fact that it made $10,000,000 profit in the
first week shows how well it was promoted and advertised, but also how much the first one was enjoyed and that many more
people went to watch the second. On February 16, 2016, producer Roy Lee , in an interview with colider, mentioned a

movies."

script for the second part in January [2018]. Ideally, we would start prep in March. Part one is only about the kids. Part two is
about these characters 27 years later as adults, with flashbacks to 1989 when they were kids.” On July 21, 2017, Muschietti
spoke of looking forward to having a dialogue in the second film that does not exist within the first, stating, "it seems like
we're going to do it. It's the second half, it's not a sequel. It's the second half and it's very connected to the first
one." Muschietti stated that two cut scenes from the first film will possibly be included in the second, one of which being the
fire at the Black Spot from the book. On September 25, 2017, New cinema line announced that the sequel would be released
on September 6, 2019, with Gary Dauberman and Jeffrey Jurgensen (who later went uncredited) writing the script. Andy
Muschietti returned to direct. Dauberman would later leave the project to write and direct Annebelle Comes home ,

Chapter Two proves bigger doesn't always mean scarier for horror sequels, but a fine cast and faithful approach to the source
material keep this follow-up afloat.”
