Welcome to Summer at Magnifi-Camp!
We have reinvented our summer programming to
offer busy families more options for a fun, active and
purposeful summer. Magnifi-Camp offers co-ed day
camp, enrichment programs and athletic camps for
students in grades 1-8. All programs are led by our
dedicated faculty, staff and coaches, who bring their
many passions and talents to every program offered.
From beads, bar graphs and basketball to cooking,
coding and current events, there is something for all
ages and interests at Magnifi-Camp!

If you like exploring nature, arts
and crafts, swimming and outdoor
games, Magnifi-Camp’s Day Camp
is for you! You’ll enjoy all the
fun that summertime offers on
Magnificat’s beautiful Rocky River
campus. Each week of day camp
offers a different theme and varied
activities, so no two days are alike.
Get ready to use your imagination,
put on your thinking cap, enjoy
silly fun and work as a team—
all while connecting with camp
counselors, instructors and new
friends. There’s no better way to
enjoy a summer day in Cleveland
than at Magnificat!

Jump into Geometry
Grades: Co-ed, 4-6
Hands-on constructions of geo-
metric wonders that you get to
build and even eat? It’s true! Snack
on spheres and polygons with a
side order of tasty tessellations.
Building polyhedrons using unique
resources will surprise you! You
will even study geometric shapes
of your own rock candy creations,
and make circles with compasses
and protractors that lead to Ying
Yang constructions.
The Magic of Fairy Land
Grades: Co-ed, 4-6

Come learn about fairies and
the magical places they call
home during this week filled with
imagination, creation and fun. You’ll
construct your very own tabletop
Fairy Garden using resources
from nature, such as sticks, rocks,
acorns and moss from Magnificat’s
own school grounds. Your garden
will be as unique as you are! Then
you will entice your fairy friends
into their enchanting new home.
Once the fairies move in, you need
to learn how to take care of and
maintain your Fairy Garden. Your
magical fairy garden will bring fun
and joy to you and your new fairy
friends for many years to come!

If you can’t get enough of the Food
Network, Cooking Academy is for
you! This camp will keep you on
top of the food scene while refining
your kitchen skills. Come learn the
importance of organic ingredients,
and why “farm to table” is more
than a trend. Learn cooking
terms, kitchen equipment and
safety, techniques and nutritional
information. You will also be
introduced to a wide variety of
amazing recipes to perfect flavor
pairings, recipe selection and menu
planning. The Magnificat Cooking
Academy will bring out the foodie
in you!
Young Entrepreneurs
Lemonade Day
Grades: Co-ed, 4-6
If you love Shark Tank and dream
of owning your own business,
you’re in the right place! In a
small team setting, you and your
fellow entrepreneurs will create a
lemonade stand, determining how
to capitalize your business, what to
sell, how to price the product, how
to market it, how to sell it, how to
realize a profit, and then how to
distribute the profit to your team
and a charity of your choice—all
with the assistance of workbook
and computer software. Lemonade
Day will be on the fourth day of
camp, when all the stands will be
openforbusiness.Youwillcelebrate
on the last day and distribute your
profits. (For the grownups: this camp
is based on the model created by the
national Lemonade Day organization--
empowering today’s youth to become
tomorrow’s entrepreneurs.)

Is writing greeting cards your
dream job? If so, this journalism
and written word creative camp is
for you! This week, you’ll explore
the power of words as we create
a newspaper for the Magnificat
Community. Are you a fashionista?
Contribute to the style section.
Love sports? Write an athletic
article. You will learn how to
investigate and report stories like
the pros! Once that’s wrapped, you
will experiment in other written
genres, from comic strips to advice
columns to greeting cards.

“stamps” by carving into linoleum

prints using a letterpress. You will
design your own T-shirts, aprons,
bandanas and more!

Harry Potter Adventure Camp
Grades: Co-ed, 4-6
You have been accepted to
Magnificat’s School of Witchcraft
and Wizardry! Your muggle
days are over, and you will now
immerse yourself in the magical
world of Harry and his friends.
First, you’ll be sorted into one of
four houses. Then, you’ll spend
five full days taking classes
on astronomy, potion making,
transfiguration and wand making.
For fun, you’ll practice quidditch,
learn wizardry games and design
your very own Harry Potter trivia
game. Whooooo knows, you may
even get to meet Harry’s favorite
animal—the owl! You will collect
points all week based on various
challenges, and the winning house
will be announced at Friday’s
final assembly. Don’t spend your
summer simply reading Harry
Potter—immerse yourself in the
magic of Magnificat!

Reach for the Stars
Broadway Musical Camp
Grades: Co-ed, 4-6
They say 400 millions stars are
born each day in our galaxy, but
what about on Earth? If you’d like
to bring out your inner star through
singing, movement, dance and
drama, this camp is for you! In this
Broadway-based musical theater
camp, you will engage in ensemble
singing, light choreography and
theater games to build skills in
expressivity, vocal projection and
stage presence. And at the end
of the week, you and your fellow
camper stars will shine in a special
performance to culminate the
week’s activities.

illustrate your own story? Now’s
your chance! In this camp, you will
learn how to plan out your ideas

skills as a performer? Tapestry
is an exciting musical theater
camp geared toward developing
talented performers in grades 7-8.
Weaving together music, dance,
drama and art through a shared
passion for collaboration through
performance, you will focus on
furthering your skills in musical and
dramatic interpretation, audition
technique, character development,
varied choreography, theater
etiquette and stage presence. The
week will culminate with a special
talent showcase—starring you!

Chemistry Junior

Welcome to the Magnificat
Exploratorium! Prepare yourself
for hands-on fun as you embrace
your inner mad-scientist and hone
your detective skills--all while
discovering the magic of the world
around you. You will learn about
crime scene science, candy science
and renewable energy. You will also
carry out experiments to determine
how much Vitamin C is in your juice.
You will also explore the chemistry
of bath bombs, make your own lava
lamp and create artwork utilizing
chromatography. And last but not
least, you will harvest the power
of the sun, and learn how to turn a
pickle into a power source!

how to paint beautiful creations
with watercolors and acrylics.
Explore the many techniques of
painting while researching famous
artists. Brainstorm, sketch and
bring your ideas to life on a canvas,
and then show your final pieces in
an art show on the last day of camp!

World

You’re invited on an adventure,
experiencing visual art and dance
from countries around the world!
Each day you’ll learn a new art
technique from a different culture,
creating beautiful, one-of-a-kind
pieces of art, and then learn a dance
or two from that region. This is a
chance to express yourself visually
and kinesthetically, learning both
traditional and contemporary
techniques in art and dance—both
independently and collaboratively.

Gregorian Chant Medieval
Choir
Grades: Co-ed 7-8
Learn to sing the oldest written
music in world culture! Latin is still
the official common language of
the worldwide Catholic Church,
and its rich heritage of music is
making a comeback. In this unique
camp, you’ll come to understand
basic Latin, be able to read simple
4-line staff and sing several well-
known chants. Immerse yourself
in a different time in history where
television and video games did not
yet exist, but self-expression was
in abundance!
Writing Whimsies: Discovering
Your Inner Author
Grades: Co-ed, 7-8
Supply Fee: $15
This summer, dip your pen into an
inkwell of inspiration as you explore
and push the limits of your own
creativity by immersing yourself
in writing and experimenting with
different genres, including poetry,
mini-memoir and flash fiction. You
will use art, photography, music and
movement to inspire new pieces of
work. Through writing workshops,
performance and crafting sessions,
you’ll tap into your own writer’s
voice, and learn how to cultivate
fresh detail, develop characters
and establish a unique writing
style. By the end of the week, you’ll

Harry Potter Adventure Camp
Grades: Co-ed, 4-6
You have been accepted to
Magnificat’s School of Witchcraft
and Wizardry! Your muggle
days are over, and you will now
immerse yourself in the magical
world of Harry and his friends.
First, you’ll be sorted into one of
four houses. Then, you’ll spend
five full days taking classes
on astronomy, potion making,
transfiguration and wand making.
For fun, you’ll practice quidditch,
learn wizardry games and design
your very own Harry Potter trivia
game. Whooooo knows, you may
even get to meet Harry’s favorite
animal—the owl! You will collect
points all week based on various
challenges, and the winning house
will be announced at Friday’s
final assembly. Don’t spend your
summer simply reading Harry
Potter—immerse yourself in the
magic of Magnificat!

At Magnifi-Camp, we know that many of our families have more than one student

Before and After Camp Care
There is an optional before and after camp care program available to each camper,
every day during Magnifi-Camp. Cost is $25 a week, per time period.
Before Camp: 7:30-8:30 a.m.
After Camp: 3:30-4:30 p.m.
All campers receive a limited edition Magnifi-Camp t-shirt.
We reserve the right to cancel any camp due to lack of registrants.

  • 3. Welcome to Summer at Magnifi-Camp! We have reinvented our summer programming to offer busy families more options for a fun, active and purposeful summer. Magnifi-Camp offers co-ed day camp, enrichment programs and athletic camps for students in grades 1-8. All programs are led by our dedicated faculty, staff and coaches, who bring their many passions and talents to every program offered. June 13–17 Magnifi-CAMP (Day Camp) “Around the World in 1 Week” Grades: Co-ed, 1-6 If you like exploring nature, arts and crafts, swimming and outdoor games, Magnifi-Camp’s Day Camp is for you! You’ll enjoy all the fun that summertime offers on Magnificat’s beautiful Rocky River campus. Each week of day camp offers a different theme and varied activities, so no two days are alike. Get ready to use your imagination, put on your thinking cap, enjoy silly fun and work as a team— all while connecting with camp counselors, instructors and new friends. There’s no better way to enjoy a summer day in Cleveland than at Magnificat! us, and Magnificat math teachers will show you how and why in this fun, outside-the-classroom camp. We will also learn how to make simple budgets and the value of money, while practicing our counting and creating colorful graphs (more art!). If you don’t already love math, you will when this week is over! (For the grownups: this camp was developed by Count Me In, a successful math camp just for girls, to build confidence in math.) Jump into Geometry Grades: Co-ed, 4-6 Hands-on constructions of geo- metric wonders that you get to build and even eat? It’s true! Snack on spheres and polygons with a side order of tasty tessellations. Building polyhedrons using unique resources will surprise you! You will even study geometric shapes of your own rock candy creations, and make circles with compasses and protractors that lead to Ying Yang constructions. The Magic of Fairy Land Grades: Co-ed, 4-6 Supply Fee: $15 Come learn about fairies and the magical places they call home during this week filled with imagination, creation and fun. You’ll construct your very own tabletop Fairy Garden using resources from nature, such as sticks, rocks, acorns and moss from Magnificat’s own school grounds. Your garden will be as unique as you are! Then you will entice your fairy friends into their enchanting new home. Once the fairies move in, you need to learn how to take care of and maintain your Fairy Garden. Your magical fairy garden will bring fun and joy to you and your new fairy friends for many years to come! Magnificat Cooking Academy Grades: Co-ed, 4-6 Supply Fee: $25 If you can’t get enough of the Food Network, Cooking Academy is for you! This camp will keep you on top of the food scene while refining your kitchen skills. Come learn the importance of organic ingredients, and why “farm to table” is more than a trend. Learn cooking terms, kitchen equipment and safety, techniques and nutritional information. You will also be introduced to a wide variety of amazing recipes to perfect flavor pairings, recipe selection and menu planning. The Magnificat Cooking Academy will bring out the foodie in you! Young Entrepreneurs Lemonade Day Grades: Co-ed, 4-6 If you love Shark Tank and dream of owning your own business, you’re in the right place! In a small team setting, you and your fellow entrepreneurs will create a lemonade stand, determining how to capitalize your business, what to sell, how to price the product, how to market it, how to sell it, how to realize a profit, and then how to distribute the profit to your team and a charity of your choice—all with the assistance of workbook and computer software. Lemonade Day will be on the fourth day of camp, when all the stands will be openforbusiness.Youwillcelebrate on the last day and distribute your profits. (For the grownups: this camp is based on the model created by the national Lemonade Day organization-- empowering today’s youth to become tomorrow’s entrepreneurs.) Creative Productions Grades: Co-ed, 7-8 Supply Fee: $15 Extra! Extra! Read all about it! Do you love getting the scoop? Is writing greeting cards your dream job? If so, this journalism and written word creative camp is for you! This week, you’ll explore the power of words as we create a newspaper for the Magnificat Community. Are you a fashionista? Contribute to the style section. Love sports? Write an athletic article. You will learn how to investigate and report stories like the pros! Once that’s wrapped, you will experiment in other written genres, from comic strips to advice columns to greeting cards. You and your fellow campers will create “stamps” by carving into linoleum and wood blocks. Then you will work collaboratively and pull your prints using a letterpress. You will collect points all week based on various challenges, and the winning house will be announced at Friday’s final assembly. In this Broadway-based musical theater camp, you will engage in ensemble singing, light choreography and theater games to build skills in expressivity, vocal projection and stage presence. And at the end of the week, you and your fellow camper stars will shine in a special performance to culminate the week’s activities. Prepare yourself for hands-on fun as you embrace your inner mad-scientist and hone your detective skills--all while discovering the magic of the world around you. You will learn about crime scene science, candy science and renewable energy. You will also carry out experiments to determine how much Vitamin C is in your juice. You will also explore the chemistry of bath bombs, make your own lava lamp and create artwork utilizing chromatography. And last but not least, you will harvest the power of the sun, and learn how to turn a pickle into a power source!

Gregorian Chant Medieval Choir Grades: Co-ed 7-8 Learn to sing the oldest written music in world culture! Latin is still the official common language of the worldwide Catholic Church, and its rich heritage of music is making a comeback. In this unique camp, you’ll come to understand basic Latin, be able to read simple 4-line staff and sing several well- known chants. Immerse yourself in a different time in history where television and video games did not yet exist, but self-expression was in abundance! Writing Whimsies: Discovering Your Inner Author Grades: Co-ed, 7-8 Supply Fee: $15 This summer, dip your pen into an inkwell of inspiration as you explore and push the limits of your own creativity by immersing yourself in writing and experimenting with different genres, including poetry, mini-memoir and flash fiction. You will use art, photography, music and movement to inspire new pieces of work. Through writing workshops, performance and crafting sessions, you’ll tap into your own writer’s voice, and learn how to cultivate fresh detail, develop characters and establish a unique writing style. Learning how to build games and animations will also help hone your design, logic and problem-solving skills. Come learn how to express your ideas and creativity in different ways using code. Harry Potter Adventure Camp Grades: Co-ed, 4-6 You have been accepted to Magnificat’s School of Witchcraft and Wizardry! Your muggle days are over, and you will now immerse yourself in the magical world of Harry and his friends. First, you’ll be sorted into one of four houses. Then, you’ll spend five full days taking classes on astronomy, potion making, transfiguration and wand making. For fun, you’ll practice quidditch, learn wizardry games and design your very own Harry Potter trivia game. Whooooo knows, you may even get to meet Harry’s favorite animal—the owl!
