This document discusses the history and development of personal computers (PCs). It notes that the first PC was created by MITS in 1975. PCs with 16-bit and 32-bit processors later became popular, introduced by IBM and Fujitsu respectively. Older PCs have become obsolete and slower as computer technology has advanced, allowing new PCs to open and process larger files more quickly. The processing speed of a computer's central processing unit (CPU) and its memory capacity are key factors in a PC's performance. Benchmarks are used to measure a computer's processing speed and guide programmers and manufacturers.
2. In the beginning…
• Today, we are surrounded by technology.
• We are always using it.
• For example, PC, smart phone, GPS and so on.
3. About PC
• We have used PC once or more.
• Many kinds of PC were made for now.
• These have produced a lot of merit for now.
4. A variety of PC
• I said that “Many kinds of PC were made”.
• In other words, there are a lot of “type” of PC in the world.
• For example, Windows 95, Core 2 Duo, Pentium D and so on.
5. History of PC
• In 1975, the worlds-first PC was made by MITS company.
• In 1981, PC which has 16-bits became popular. It was named “IBM
PC”.
• In 1987, PC which has 32-bits was made by Fujitsu. At that time,
this PC’s processing speed is twice or more faster than others.
6. Currently
• Most of old type of PC are not used.
• I think that now PC is very convenient.
• Someone who want to buy new PC buy soon.
7. Difference between new and old
• In now, when you use old PC, it takes long time to open something.
• Computer displays “Now loading…”.
• If you wait for long long time, PC don’t open the file.
8. Cause
• Computer technology continues to advance at an amazing speed.
• Now PC can open and process bigger file than old one.
• Old PC is suffering from this situation.
9. How fast is your computer now?
• How do we know the process speed?
• Can we know the way?
10. BenchMarking
• We can know the process speed.
• Manufacturers race computers all the time to test their computer.
• Doing it is called “BenchMarking”.
• We can know process speed with it.
11. How does PC process?
• PC can understand what we want to do when we do something
with instructions.
• For example, keyboard, voice commands, tablet and so on.
• These instructions are called “inputs”.
• And inputs tell the software to do something.
12. How does PC process? (2)
• The exact instruction were written by a programmer and
processed by the CPU.
• The CPU does the actual tasks and then stores the results in the
memory.
• Increasing the processing speed of the CPU or the amount of
available memory are two common ways to make a computer
faster.
14. Settlement
• Programmers use measurements to develop programs that will run
quickly.
• Computer manufacturers use measurements as a benchmark.
• Thanks to their effort, your computer works so fast.
15. Settlement(2)
• From this article, I can know a lot of things.
• We have to know about computer to use more comfortable.
