2. Introductio
nA hydrocele is a type of swelling in
the scrotum that occurs when fluid
collects in the thin sheath
surrounding a testicle.

3. Cause
s Exact cause is unknown
 Injury or surgery to the scrotam area
 It may be cause d by infection of
epididymis or testicles
 Some time it can caused by cancer of
testicles.

4. Sign and
symptoms Swelling of scrotum
 Redness of scrotum
 Pain
 Feeling of pressure at the base of
penis

5. Diagnostic
test History collection
 Physical examination
 Transillumination: dr. Shine a light
behind each testicle. Light will shine
through the testicle if the fluid is
present.
 Ultrasound
 Blood test

6. Manageme
nt Surgery done if hydrocele
cause discomfort.
 Niddle aspiration is done
 Sclerotherapy done to
reduce reaccumulation.

7. Nursing
management Advise patient to avoid riding bike at
list 3 week
 Avoid sternous activity
 Maintain hygiene to prevent infection
 Provide icepack to reduce pain
