An avatar is just a customer profile
A fictional character that
represents your ideal customer
Making your customer a real
person helps you understand their
fears and desires
It will help you fine tune your
marketing efforts
You can have different avatars -
but not too many!

Jennifer is in her fifties and has suddenly been made
redundant from her job as a bookkeeper where she has
worked for 14 years. Her husband is not working but they
have a mortgage to pay off they don't have any children
and live in a detached house in Shropshire in a village. The
household income was £35,000.
Jennifer shops at Sainsbury's and Marks & Spencer she
likes quality and has never had to compromise. She has
dogs, likes gardening, cooking and walking, she mainly
watches mainstream TV, likes BBC news, her soap operas,
Bake Off and Masterchef.
Jennifer has not applied for any jobs in 14 years, her CV is
out of date, her LinkedIn profile has not been updated for
years, she does not use any other form of social media.
Jennifer needs help with her LinkedIn profile and how to
use LinkedIn to develop relationships. She is prepared to
invest in training as she is worried that she won't find
another job and is thinking about self employment.
What she would really like is for someone to sit down with
her on a one to one basis and explain how to use LinkedIn
and other social media platforms to help her find work or
new opportunities.
