Many people think Mona Lisa's smile is
mysterious. It is so often studied, recognized,
and copied that it is the most famous painting
in the world. The Louvre says that about 80
percent of its visitors come to see the painting
of Mona Lisa.

This painting is focused on circles it's a
shape that most of us can identify and
replicate!
Kandinsky's concentric (that's a great
vocabulary word!) circle art inspires
many of us to draw, paint, collage, and
print.

3. MONDRIAN'S LINES -
PAINTED BY PIET MONDRIAN
Mondrian's lines are perfectly tailored
check out the squares and rectangles
that his lines create! Mondrian's
artwork is also a wonderful lead-in to a
lesson in primary colours and the
secondary colours that one can create
if they cross Mondrian's lines.
4. BHARAT MATA

One of the most iconic painting
Bharat Mata depicts a saffron clad
woman, dressed like a sadhvi,
holding a book, sheaves of paddy, a
piece of white cloth and a garland in
her four hands. Immensely
important because of its emotional
and historical value.
5. BAPUJI
PAINTED BY NANDLAL
BOSE
Bapu has been a muse for many of his artists
both in India and abroad. His famous linocut
portrait of the Mahatma titled ‘Dandi March’
(with the legend Bapuji, 1930, inscribed on
it) created in 1930, reflects his respect for
Gandhi and is on permanent display at the
National Gallery of Modern Art in Delhi.
6. THREE PUJARINS
PAINTED BY
JAMINI ROY
He created a masterpiece when he painted
three almond-eyed priestesses for his work
named Three Pujarins. Inspired by the folk art
tradition of Bengal, Roy experimented with
vibrant colours and developed his own
individual style of painting that resulted in
artwork that were a visual feast.
