is more than an insurance company.
The Wright Insurance Group is a specialty insurance holding company in operation for over 30
years, previously as Wright Risk Management, WRM and WRM America. We are insurance
professionals devoted to finding solutions for businesses, municipalities, education systems and
individuals. A leader in the industry, The Wright Insurance Group's associated companies have
been rated A- (Excellent) or better by A.M. Best.
Our accomplishments include a variety of innovative insurance solutions for the specific needs of
certain groups. These include insurance reciprocals and risk purchasing groups. In any form, all of
our solutions have two common features – specialization and attention to service. We helped to
create insurance reciprocals that enable schools to work together to purchase insurance at more
economical rates. We formed risk purchasing groups so that food companies and real estate owners
could reduce their insurance premiums and broaden their coverage. We are the largest provider of
flood insurance, backed by the NFIP and protecting America's communities from unexpected
disaster.

3. Wright Specialty Insurance
Wright Specialty Insurance is a member of The Wright Insurance Group which has been providing
underwriting, claims, risk management and litigation management services to the education sector
for more than 25 years.
Wright Specialty Insurance has exciting growth plans. Our Wright Education offering has earned a
solid reputation in the insurance market. We are planning to add new specialized offerings for
select industry segments in the near future. Watch this space!
Wright Education is our comprehensive suite of property and casualty insurance coverages and
services for K-12 private independent schools, public schools (outside of New York State) and
accredited colleges and universities. We are currently licensed to offer Wright Education insurance
in 27 states.
Wright Specialty delivers insurance coverages and services more efficiently to help schools, colleges
and universities manage risk more effectively. Our success is proven: Wright has successfully
managed the New York Schools Insurance Reciprocal for more than two decades.
Wright Specialty’s experienced underwriting team is highly skilled at analyzing risks specific to
educational institutions. Underwriters are assigned to each insured risk on an ongoing basis so they
can quickly recognize adverse loss trends and communicate those concerns to our loss control and
claims departments for actions that could help reduce future exposures. These well-established
lines of communications combined with our highly valued broker/agent relationships bring greater
context, consistency and accuracy to our underwriting process.
Our underwriting team also responds to evolving risk issues such as mold, terrorism and school
violence by helping our claims department adapt claims handling procedures, revising policy
wording and coverage forms, and determining new ways of evaluating these risks.

Flood our sole focus is federal flood insurance and excess flood insurance. We are committed to
helping property owners and their agents assess their flood risk, and properly insure it through the
National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).
At Wright Flood our roots in federal flood insurance date to the very beginning of the flood
program, and grew stronger as we acquired flood policies to become the largest provider in the
marketplace. Our network of over 17,000 independent agents has assisted flood insurance
policyholders to recover through more than 40 years of hurricanes, nor’easters, spring thaw
flooding, levee failures and even some unexpected downpours. Benefit from our decades of flood

5. Wright Risk Consulting
Providing objective risk and insurance consulting for over 30 years, Wright Risk Consulting is a
hands-on partner. We are part-time, outsourced risk managers for our clients, many of whom have
been using our services for decades. We provide expert, strategic advice on risk and insurance
issues, but unlike more academic consultants, we “do the doing.” We administer your risk and
insurance programs, we negotiate contracts with your brokers, direct insurers, third party claims
administrators and other service providers, and hold them accountable to you. We keep you
advised of state-of-the-art insurance policy language and the latest risk management techniques to
make sure your program delivers the value you need. Because we execute as well as advise, our
recommendations are concrete and realistic.
We believe the best way to manage unnecessary risk is to avoid it altogether. At Wright Risk
Consulting, we work with you to reduce your exposure to risk and reduce your premium in the

8. Wright Risk Management
I. Wright Risk Management
Wright Risk Management Company, LLC is the program management subsidiary of the Wright Insurance
Group. We serve as the management company for several alternative risk-financing vehicles, including
the New York Schools Insurance Reciprocal (NYSIR); the New York Municipal Insurance Reciprocal
(NYMIR); the New York State Municipal Workers’ Compensation Alliance and the New York State
Schools Workers’ Compensation Trust. As a program manager, Wright provides marketing,
underwriting, policyholder services, claims and risk management, statutory accounting services and IT
support.
Through innovation and creativity, Wright addresses the ever-changing risk needs of its clients. We
engage attorneys, nurses, safety engineers, IT specialists, law enforcement professionals, sports and
athletic risk managers, investigators, contractors and restoration experts to provide insight into issues
facing organizations today.
We have built our reputation by successfully managing reciprocals, pools and insurance companies that
have achieved and maintained A.M. Best ratings of “Excellent.”
II. New York Schools Insurance Reciprocal (NYSIR)
Wright Risk Management is proud of its role in the creation and continued management of the New York
Schools Insurance Reciprocal (NYSIR). When New York’s public schools faced an insurance crisis in the
1980s, Wright worked with state government on legislation enabling the formation of a reciprocal
insurer. With over 340 owner-subscribers, NYSIR is an A.M. Best “A” (Excellent) rated insurer and a
model for reciprocal insurance programs throughout the nation. The reciprocal, wholly owned by its
subscribers, provides extensive property and liability coverage for member school districts. Policies
underwritten include property, inland marine, boiler and machinery, general liability, school leaders’
errors and omissions and excess catastrophic lines of business. NYSIR has posted a five-year combined
ratio below 100%.
Wright is responsible for underwriting, statutory accounting, reporting and regulatory compliance
administration, claims management, policyholder services, and safety and loss control engineering
services. With NYSIR, school administrators have seen their coverage broaden and premiums stabilize,
while benefiting from a school-focused risk management program and claims philosophy.

9. III. New York Municipal Insurance Reciprocal (NYMIR)
NYMIR was created in 1993 by Wright Risk Management in conjunction with municipal officials
throughout New York State. Formed to address the unique exposures and risk financing needs of local
municipalities, NYMIR is a stable, cost-effective insurance program for New York State’s local
governments. NYMIR offers property and casualty insurance coverages, including law enforcement and
public officials’ liability. The reciprocal is rated “A” by A.M. Best.
As program manager, Wright Risk Management provides underwriting, claims and risk management,
accounting, marketing and regulatory compliance services for NYMIR. Today, NYMIR has approximately
over 620 member municipalities throughout New York State, and has posted a five-year average
combined ratio below 100%.
IV. New York State Municipal Workers’ Compensation Alliance (Workers’ Comp Alliance)
Wright established the Workers’ Comp Alliance in 1994 on behalf of local municipalities who were
searching for an alternative to traditional insurance. It is a non-profit, tax-exempt workers’
compensation plan established solely for the benefit of municipalities and public school districts.
As plan Manager, Wright provides claims services, case management, quality control and cost
containment, loss control and safety services, and overall program management for its 214 members.
V. New York State Insurance Fund Workers Compensation Safety Group #584
In 2011, Wright formed NYSIF Workers Compensation Safety Group #584 which is open to NY
employers in the retail food business. NYSIF safety groups offer employers committed to safety and loss
control for their workplace a fully insured, low cost Workers Compensation alternative to private
insurance carrier plans and self insurance. Safety Group #584 offers a 25% upfront premium discount
for eligible members and the possibility of significant premium dividends at the end of each policy
period.
VI. The NYBEST Agency
The NYBEST Agency became an insurance brokerage licensed by the New York State Insurance
Department in 2002. Through this agency, school districts have the ability to access and purchase
insurance services and products, on either a group or individual basis, that include: Life Insurance, Long
Term Disability and Health Insurance. Additionally, districts can obtain Student Accident Insurance and
financial services related to the administration of 403(b) Plan and Section 125 Flexible Spending Plans.
The NYBEST Agency operates on a not-for-profit basis and is wholly-owned by its participating member
school districts. The agency also serves as an employee benefits consulting and resource center and
sponsors education seminars.
