JTMS (Scotland) Ltd was established in May 2008 offering Management System Consultancy services
to a wide range of industry sectors including print, manufacturing, engineering, recruitment,
construction, waste management and the oil & gas industry. Our pride is in our people who have
years of experience and professional qualifications to allow us to work in these fields. We strive to
consistently deliver high quality and relevant systems to reflect current business practices.
We proactively work with our clients to understand their business activities, products and services so
that we can deliver a tailor-made system that is compliant with one or more of the following schemes:
ISO 9001 Quality Management, ISO 14001 Environmental Management, OHSAS 18001 Occupational
Health & Safety Management, PEFC and FSC® chain of custody management systems. We are proud
to be able to include ISO 50001 Energy Management to our services for 2015.
We have developed training courses for our clients to suit their needs including internal auditor
training to ISO 19011 standards.
We are very proud of our 100% success rate of first time pass during certification award audits. The
process of certification includes gap analysis, system development and implementation through
training, internal and external audit support. Once certification has been awarded we provide a
maintenance programme of support, audit and review performance to ensure that the systems are
maintained and continually reflect the business as it grows and changes.
We also offer health, safety and environmental support, which includes looking at associated risks
and legal requirements thus ensuring that we guide our clients towards legal compliance through risk
assessment development and inspections to support a positive business culture.

What our clients say……
JTMS (Scotland) Ltd have worked with our company in a
consultancy capacity since 2011. We were a rapidly growing
company, within the international oil and gas sector of
industry, with no documented management systems.
At our initial meeting, JTMS suggested we should aim to run
an Integrated Management System and be an ISO 9001:2008
/ 14001:2004 / 18001:2007 certified company. I had my
doubts given the complexity of our operations, however, my
misgivings were unfounded as with the company’s
professional yet caring approach they navigated us through
this, then unknown territory, in a timely manner. Through
practical and motivational training this has enabled us to
achieve our certification, start to finish, within a 12 month
timeframe.
JTMS staff have an endlessly enthusiastic “can do” approach
towards tasks, deadlines and problem solving. The team are
very hard working, committed and a valued external
addition to our Osprey3 team.
Laura Hepburn, Director - Osprey3 (Engineering, Oil & Gas)
We have been impressed with knowledge
of the standards, professional manner and
sound business base that JTMS have to
offer. They play an active role at
Claremont, carrying out our internal
auditor programme, facilitating our
management reviews and continuing to
drive improvements.
In getting to know our people, our
products/services and share our values,
JTMS have worked very closely with all
members of our staff. Specific training
sessions have been developed covering
environmental requirements, customer
focus and health & safety awareness,
helping us improve our ISO performance.
We regard JTMS as a member of our team
and we are delighted to recommend them
to others.
They are immensely encouraging and
inspirational, a terrific asset to us as we
take our business to the next level.
Noreen Preston, Operations Director –
Claremont Centre Ltd (Furniture
Manufacturing)
Achieving the ISO14001 Environmental Certification and the FSC/PEFC Chain of Custody was a major
achievement for CCG (Scotland)Ltd. Our Client base was increasingly demanding of us to have this
certification to pre-qualify onto tenders. In the past we were missing out on opportunities because we did
not have this certification. We had an existing Quality system. However, we felt that the system was not
functioning as well as it could. Therefore, we commissioned JTMS to create an Integrated Management
System that would refresh the Quality System and would integrate the Environmental Management System
along with the Chain of Custody Procedures.
JTMS were extremely helpful in the creation and implementation of the IMS. The knowledge of
Quality/Environmental Issues and especially Chain of Custody was excellent. This assisted us to implement
new operational controls to minimise our impact on the environment. We successfully achieved both
certifications, with no Non-Conformances or Comments.
Andrew Blair, Business Improvement Manager – CCG Scotland (Construction)
JTMS have been instrumental in the development of our
quality and environmental systems, and also our company
practices over the last eighteen months.
The level of improvement has been quite simply incredible and
the management team recognise JTMS as an asset to the
further development to our organisation.

Certification Process
Gap Analysis: This process is designed to understand and map out the company’s business structure, meet the
management team and staff who will influence key activities and understand the activities, products
and services that the company undertakes to deliver its final product. This information is used to
develop the documented system. The output of this process would include an action plan complete
with timescales and accountabilities to ensure the project is managed. This includes defining key
suppliers, customers, deliverable specifications, key quality inspection areas and contract
management.
Discussions and formal quotations would be obtained from the certification bodies.
System Development: JTMS will create a documented system compliant with the standards that reflects the outputs of
the Gap Analysis using the information provided by the client. This includes the training roll out
presentations and plans. Confirm certification body and arrange dates for external audit.
Training: Roll out to Management team and staff
Internal Audit: This process reviews all activities to ensure effectiveness and conformance.
1. Implementation is established,
2. Identify any gaps/areas of improvement
Close out corrective actions from internal audits. This process continues throughout the remainder
of the project and after award of certification to ensure that the system continues to reflect the
business and complies with the standards. The sample will be selected based on risks, size, product
variation and complexity.
Management Review: Management review attended by management team to review the effectiveness of the new
system, set objectives and prepare for external assessment. Confirm company readiness to the
certification body.
External Audit: Stage I: Document Assessment – This is normally done onsite at the Head office location.
Management should attend both the opening and closing meetings chaired by the Auditor (External
Auditing body). This assessment is to establish that the company has completed all the mandatory
elements. At the end of this audit a report will be published with recommendation to proceed to
Stage II. There may be some actions required as part of this recommendation.
Initial Assessment Stage I: This is a more in-depth audit conducted by the external auditor to audit the new system
and verify that it has been fully developed, implemented and working at all levels of the company
to the defined procedures. Successful outcome will result in award of certification. The auditor
will expect to conduct several site visits as part of this process. Management teams are expected
to attend opening and closing meetings.
Upon award of certification JTMS strongly recommend a maintenance program is introduced to ensure continued compliance with
the standard requirements and that the system continues to reflect business activities. Failure to maintain the system will result
in poor external audits and risk of suspension.
