Good news is there is a whole host of technology readily available to you at affordable prices. How do you decide? Start with the customer in mind – conduct an audit of your customer buying experience and touch points i.e. your suppliers, your frontline employees, your marketing activities, sales process, payment process, the website, your social media, not forgetting the product you are delivering – this applies to both B2C and B2B businesses, businesses selling products as well as professional services firms. More noise in the market, BUT lots of quite similar looking products and services on offer it’s hard to tell one from the other. Danger of being perceived as a “commodity” product or service. Integrated approach – marketing mix -consider mixture of traditional print and online approaches depending on your campaign objective eg PPS, Facebook ads, mobile site or app to increase response. Restaurant opening: magazine, point of sale, PR, mobile site, social media and an app (loyalty and branding).

You can engage with your social media followers when you are on the go, track marketing activities such as mobile purchases, rewards redemptions or downloads via your app. If you use other 3rd party marketing tools such as Mailchimp, Constant Contact, payment systems such as PayPal, Braintree, Kashflow. Review sites such as TripAdvisor. Table reservations : Opentable. Food ordering systems such as Just Eat and want to continue using them, these can be integrated into the app. Or you can use our native app features

Discounts, specials, freebies, introduce a friend and get a freebie, exclusivity eg make the loyalty scheme exclusive to the app Promote the app in your social media, print, website and email signatures, email marketing, perhaps even conduct an online survey asking customers for feedback on the app. Training your staff at the shop till or restaurant to promote the app, asking customers to download the app in order to get an instant discount or freebie helps. Once customers download, content must be refreshed regularly, new promotions, staff must be informed of any loyalty programmes or any push campaign sent to their customer’s smartphones.
