• Pranay was born in
Rajasthan, His father

officer in mines.
• He completed Chemical
engineering in IIT
(Delhi) & MBA in
IIM(Calcutta)
• He married Tina Chulet,
Founder of Waltz
(Mobile Dating App)

• Pranay started working
for Mitchell Madison
Group as a Management
Consultant / Engagement
Manager.
• His basic job profile was
to advice his clients in
financial services and
media industries.

5. Started his FIRST Venture
called REFERENCE
CHECK
Reference Check was an online medium between
Service Providers (E.g: Plumbers, Electrician, etc)
and Consumers.
The company eventually
got merged with another
bigger incubator
called Walker Digital!

Investment Banking, Media, etc.

• He even started
another company of
his own called –
Excellere in 2007.
• Excellere was all about
developing web-based
educational products.
• A portal provide a platform to
the buyers and seller to
“meet online, transact
offline” name called
‘CRAIGSLIST’.
• Craigslist was full-proof
business model, that had
proved its success across
the world and this boosted
his confidence even more.

8. He decide to bring this in Indian market
Initial phase

Kijiji means
‘community’
soon they
realized the
name was
difficult to
pronounce.

9. • Hence, they decided to create new subsidiary
headed by Pranay & Jiby Thomas and renamed it to
Quikr on July 2008.
• Jiby decided to quit Quikr in 2012.

• Quikr has crossed a lot of
milestones, like they reached
22 Million monthly user across
65 Indian cities.
• Also they tied up with Nokia
where Quikr apps available on
users.
2013
• Shortage space also led
innovative idea, they started
missed call Centre, to get all
customer to give missed call
to Quikr and they will call
them back.
2014
• In the last 3-4 years
revenues was touch
somewhere round
RS.200 Crores

11. 2015
Quikr with a strength of 1200-
1300 people, reports 15,00,000
(1.5 million roughly) transactions
every month, which are valued
somewhere around $5 billion.
